An amazing local spot. Been trying all the Mexican spits in Austin and this stands out purely for their quality and the warm people that work there. IMO the best mole in Austin hands down. Great little bar and nothing by smiles.

We ate here today, and even though we were the only ones in the restaurant, the service was surprisingly slow. It felt like they were busy with how long everything took and how rarely we were checked on.
The tacos were okay but a bit pricey for the portion size. The barbacoa was definitely the best one, while the carnitas were a little too sweet for my taste. The chips and queso were lukewarm and a bit watery, maybe they would’ve been better without the ground beef mixed in.
Overall, it wasn’t a great experience. Between the slow service, small portions, higher prices, and no drink refills, I’d probably try somewhere else next time

*ordered via Grubhub - this was some of the most bland and watery meat I’ve experienced at a tex Mex restaurant. The shredded chicken used in the enchiladas is about as flavorless and watery as the ground beef that they used. And even though I ordered delivery I know that the wait time had nothing to do with the tasteless meat, I threw the entire order away after 1 bite of the items. Disappointed is an understatement :(

When you come in and notice that all the abuelas and all families are eating happily at the restaurant and enjoying it, it must be because the food is really good and authentic. I sat down with my partner, and as a matter of fact, it was. I ordered guisado ranchero, and you can tell the meat quality was outstanding. It didn't need the guiso to be good, but the guiso made it even better. My partner had puerco en salsa verde, and it tasted like you were at some grandma's kitchen back on the border. It felt like it was made with love; it felt like home.
