I love El Mesón! We have hosted our last several Holiday Parties here and the whole crew is so nice and warm. They treat us so well! Always love our experience here.

Love this place! There's fancier places, but this is the place I keep coming back to again and again.
Definitely try their street tacos (especially the Ribeye con Chicharron De Queso) and mole poblano. Honestly this place is worth going to even just for the chips and salsa!

Absolutely phenomenal Sunday brunch. Authentic Mexican dishes, fruit, yogurt, desserts, anything you could possibly want. Eggs, pancakes, and French toast cooked to order. Relaxed atmosphere with family-style self service. I'll never go to Snooze again. THIS is THE brunch spot.

My family and I came here for a birthday buffet brunch on a Sunday. We got here right when they opened and parked right on the side. We used the parking pass so we scanned our phones and then put the code in once we walked in and we had the free parking for up to two hours which was great because by the time we left i had 15 minutes remaining. As we came right as they opened and we had a reservation of 6 plus a baby we got seated right away. I will say it wasn't crazy busy when we came in but as the morning progressed it got busier. Once seated our waitress came over right away to explain how everything worked for the buffet and then took any special drink orders. After that we headed up put our glove on and started grabbing food. I will say they had quite a selection of foods. As this is Mexican we did not know what to expect as it is hard to find true Mexican food in ATX. To give note my family is from Southern AZ right on the border of AZ to Mexico so yes they know what real authentic Mexican food is. For the food portion we were not disappointed and were actually surprised by how great everything was. What a treat it is to find something that isn't tex mex. The talk of the table was we will want to come back and maybe do the actual menu. The waitress gave us a menu and we were pleased with the plates and the prices. As you know real authentic Mexican food in AZ isn't a arm and a leg so to see prices that were actually normal was great. The service was awesome our waitress answered our questions and came by often to clear any empty plates and refill our drinks. If you live in the surrounding areas outside ATX i highly recommend that this place is worth the drive into the city. Thank you El Meson to a delicious and fun Sunday morning with my family.

Very excited to eat here for our friend’s birthday on our trip to Austin, something where we’d feel at home with our Latino community, only to be received as we were a bother by one of the servers before we were even sat for being a bigger group, as he walked away to talk to some one, a wonderful worker with an apron and another super nice server were quick to seat us with such warm welcome, when the original server returned with such an inconvenienced demeanor, speaking to us about our options clearly encouraging us to leave and so we did :( not angry just a huge disheartening experience

I was really happy to go in but, first surprise: $18 first 2hrs parking.
We were welcome and we're told about the Sunday brunch, they never mentioned price per person or so. And before walking to our table they told us that we didn't have to pay for parking, already done.
Food was not hot enough, not really taste, not a big variety. Per social media I expected a bigger selection.
At the end we got the check, it included 18% gratuity. I asked and the guy told me he could do anything to change since we were told about it. I told him you were our hostess and never explained us price/tip percentage included.
We believe gratuity is an option, depending on service and we usually leave it cash to assignated server.
We don't think it was fair since service was not the best.

My water tasted weird, my food took forever and no one else was in the restaurant. The service was also terrible and slow. Food was bland. Basically taco bell but worse. You’ll have a better time at Matt’s El Rancho, and they suck too.

We went to the Sunday brunch buffet, food was cold, too expensive for what it offers.

They couldn’t separate a check for a large party when there were 3 tables seated. They offered to split it it 4 ways for a party of 8, so they obviously could have. They were just being lazy. I’ve never left a 1 star rating anywhere, but this was ridiculous.

The lady that cares so much about parking should worry more about the food quality and service. Stop being a bully and worry about yourself. Food is below average.

The absolute worst food I've ever had on S Lamar 😫 also $10 to park in a restaurant parking lot is mind boggling. The staff was super friendly.
Edit: was not enjoying the buffet options, only trying to find what could like. Not one option was tasty.
