Really great taco truck! Went after doing some errands, not usually in this part of town. Great little surprise of a spot. We tried the trips, chicken, barbacoa and carnitas. All were great but the carnitas was my favorite.

Location: This is a typical taco truck location. It's kind of out of the way spot in a parking lot. There are also multiple Taco truck's there. So you can pick and choose.

Ambiance: nothing exciting. In fact, this truck is a little bit beat up. I was kind of nervous. But I've eaten the taco trucks all over the country, and had very few bad experiences.

Service: The service was good. They don't speak my things but that's a good thing. They just cooked it up and handed it to me. You don't expect much of a taco truck.

Menu: The menu is only tacos. The typical kind of meats, and flour or corn tortillas. I actually don't think there was anything else on the menu.

Food: Damn, those are some delicious tacos. I chose El pastor and carnitas. I've had El pestore tacos all over the place including Mexico. In fact Mexico was just 2 weeks ago. These are actually significantly better than Mexico, including pieces of pineapple inside ?. my first bite that included pineapple made me smile ear to ear. Damn. Damn. I received flour tortillas. I think it was a Lost in translation dynamic thing. But these are seriously good flour tortillas. Like when I finished my second one, and it was 11:30 at night, I wanted two more. I refrained to keep my svelte figure ?.

Bottom line, would I go again? Hell yeah, and I'd choose this truck from the other two at the same parking lot!

Hidden between a gas station and an auto repair shop. Worth seeking out. Lots of flavor.

Food is great. I love the tacos over there. Prices are decent. The service is fine. The place is not that fun to be around. You should definitely take out!

Very tasty tacos with a variety of meats and reasonably priced! This place is a taco truck with covered picnic tables to eat at. Great for a quick bite.

Authentic Mexican street tacos, nothing less and nothing more! Try the Gringa, they were the original Street tacos in Austin!

Can’t believe there’s no other reviews for this place. Delicious. Just, delicious. Definitely one of those hidden Austin gems.

You are going to read a lot of 4-5 star reviews about this place, I want to leave a review that hits on a different point of view and keeps it real. If you are the type of person that wants to get To-Go food and take it home for your family, don't expect much from this place. They treat you as if your money or business with them doesn't matter. I just spent $23+tax for a "nacho with meat" and a mango/lime margarita To-Go. I asked if I could get some chips & salsa with my order a few mins before it came out, and they said that I needed to run my card for another $4 for a small bag of chips and salsa to go. WHAT? They said that the chips & salsa were only for dine-in. I was like, so I spent $23+tax, and I can't even get any salsa & chips? "No, you can't, that's policy." Fine... whatever then. Then I get home, open up these nachos that were approx $12, and there is a circle of like 12 chips, with a little bit of chicken on each chip, and a little bit of cheese, with a small scoop of refried beans in the middle. WHAT? I didn't know I was ordering an "appetizer nacho with meat"... I asked the guy for a large nachos with fajita chicken, and he said "Yes." Nah man, I get 12 small chips with hardly any toppings, instead of an actual mound of nachos like I would have expected for $12+tax. With a small box of sour cream, guac. And... zero salsa, not even a tiny little ramekin of salsa to go. So yeah... El Taquito does get a lot of "great" reviews, but apparently you only get a great experience if you eat there. They were better and cared more about their customers (dine in and carryout) when they were in the smaller location at Rowe Lane next to the Chevron. Overpriced now, and you don't get the value or service that equals what you spend. That's just my opinion.
