Get a reservation, but I cannot recommend Eldorado highly enough. The Papas Rellenas are excellent, and the Salsa X might be my favorite salsa in Austin. Not a bad (or even mediocre) dish on the menu. Fantastic staff.
Dined on a Tuesday night celebrating my son's birthday. It's his favorite Mexican food restaurant. We walked right in and were seated, unlike the weekends when it's always packed. We have been fans of El Dorado for as long as they've been in business and have dined there many times over the years. With the recent popularity over the last couple years it's made it difficult to want to go back. The wait times on Friday and Saturday night are consistently over an hour.
