An unforgettable dining experience. Chef Endo and his team provided the greatest omakase journey in Austin. Each new course complimented the previous and built a wonderful foundation of tastes from the Edo period coupled with flavorful cocktails using Japanese liquors. The chef and staff were great company, telling fun stories and laughing with all of us. I was beyond elated when he played guitar after the last course, even tremolo-picking the Happy Birthday song to my girlfriend and two others celebrating. If you love incredible gastronomic adventures and great company, you have to experience Endo.

Sushi Endo in Austin offers an exceptional omakase experience that brings together the freshest seasonal ingredients with the precision of traditional Japanese sushi craftsmanship. Priced at $99 for a 16-course menu, the value is beyond impressive, considering the quality and range of the dishes served.
The journey through the omakase began with delicate offerings like Santenmori (pumpkin dofu, kampachi kobujime, hokkigai clam), showcasing the kitchen's commitment to balance and flavor. From there, each course elevated in complexity and depth.
My personal favorites, the Kamasu (barracuda) and Aji (horse mackerel), stood out for their simplicity and mastery. The Kamasu, with its charred edge, had a slightly smoky flavor that paired exquisitely with the firm texture of the fish. Meanwhile, the Aji was a celebration of umami, served fresh with a texture that melted in the mouth.
Other highlights included the Chawanmushi, a comforting egg custard dish with an unexpected yet delightful combination of oyster, ikura, and okra, adding layers of richness to the meal. The Toro(fatty tuna) and Anago(sea eel) were luxuriously rich and delicate, making every bite feel indulgent.
The progression from course to course was seamless, with each offering highlighting the natural flavors of the fish. For dessert, the refreshing Shikuwasa Granita and decadent coffee yokan provided a perfect end to the experience.
Sushi Endo’s omakase is a must-visit for anyone in Austin who appreciates authentic sushi, and the $99 price tag for this 16-course journey is an unbeatable deal for the quality of the meal. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or just starting to explore, Sushi Endo offers an unforgettable culinary adventure.

We went here to celebrate my birthday and had the best time. Chef Endo was so kind and a delight to talk to. Every course was delicious and I tried some new nigiri that I hadn’t had before. Chef ended the evening playing the guitar for us and even played the Happy Birthday tune. Would definitely go back again.

My fiance booked this experience for my birthday and it was amazing. The food is off the charts, the service 5 stars, and the staff are the most friendly and knowledgeable people I have met at a restaurant. The head master sushi chef and owner is from Tokyo and is frankly the most amazing sushi chef I’ve experienced, with years of experience. It was a show and a dining experience. The chef even played me happy birthday on a guitar as he wanted to be a blues guitarist! Also the atmosphere is stunning. Gorgeous restaurant. I cannot say enough good things other than GO and BOOK NOW. It is a must if you love sushi! A huge thank you to Yasu-san and the staff for an incredible birthday dinner. We will be back!

Chef Endo is a sweet man passionate about his craft. Frankly, he may be the only sushi chef in Austin who felt humble and genuine to me. The service was outstanding, which in general is also hard to find in Austin right now. However, I will say the vibe is a miss. It's not casual enough to be hole in the wall funky strip mall joint but it's not nice enough to be worthy of 5 stars. It's lost in that middle trying too hard but not hitting the mark place. There are a lot of omakase offerings in this town right now and I think this one is one of the few worthy of our money. Forget the self important created exclusivity of not being able to get reservations that similar restaurants have manufactured for food that isn't as good. Come here, let chef Endo play music and prepare food for you, and let's help something that has the seeds of an all around 5 star experience grow to its full potential.
The Omakase experience Chef Endo curates is 1 of 1 the staff from the host, bartender and Sui Chef were absolutely world class! Of course the main event was all the wonderfully crafted courses each bite was phenomenal! Highly recommend this experience!

I had the absolute pleasure of celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday at Endo, and it was an unforgettable experience! We opted for the Omakase 20 course meal, and every single dish was a masterpiece. The food was incredibly fresh, traditional, and bursting with flavor.
The ambiance of the restaurant is simply stunning—elegant yet comfortable, with a great vibe that perfectly balances sophistication and fun. The service was impeccable, with staff who were both attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home.
The highlight of the night was the chef, who not only prepared our meal with exceptional skill but also engaged with us throughout, sharing stories and even playing the electric guitar at one point! It was such a unique and enjoyable touch that added to the overall relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
Endo is far from stuffy or pretentious; it’s a place where you can enjoy top-notch cuisine in a laid-back, vibrant setting. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate. Highly recommend!
