We had amazing nightcap cocktails here. You probably need a reservation but you can always try to walk in. The service from the bartender was personal and helpful. The cocktails were amazing. The headphones to hear the music was what set this place over the top- truly an experience and I’d recommend everyone try it. Not every seat has the headphones, so express this at your seating.

I live in Houston but make it a point to visit Equipment Room every time I visit Austin - it’s that good. I’m a bar manager myself so I know good cocktails, and when I tell you this place always blows me away! It is obvious in every sip how passionate and talented the staff is here. I always leave with a handful of new music to jam to as well. 10/10 in every aspect!! The manager, Jenn is absolutely lovely and is the reason I am a regular.

But the drinks are a bit expensive, and they keep coming to our table and ask if we need anything or want more drinks even, we didnt finish our first drinks yet. Other than that, everything was ?

I made the reservation for a few friends and myself for a friend's birthday. It was all of our first time there, and we were really looking forward to it. I really wanted to love this experience. However, when the day to visit finally came around, we were left feeling a bit disappointed, evident by the low star review.
I will say that the server we had was at least polite, and that the atmosphere as well as the interior were phenomenal. However, the wait times left a lot to be desired.
We waited about twenty minutes for our drinks, which was an alarmingly large amount of time considering the number of patrons in the bar at that time. In addition to that, we also ended up waiting about thirty minutes for our order of chicken karaage, which while delicious, was also a bit cold; especially in contrast to the order of chicken fried tofu we got which was hot and seemed to have been served immediately.
All in all, the bar, the music choice and the food were phenomenal. The drinks were also decent, but nothing to rave about. However, the wait times largely swayed my opinion for the worst. I'd like to say that I'll be back, but perhaps the next time I come around, it'll be for something much more casual as opposed to a friend's birthday celebration.

drink kinda meh - first two ingredients listed I think a whiskey and a rye (couldn't tell)... Balsamic vinegar a bit overpowering and way too much sugar. kinda didn't smell great either. - comparisons: (Barcelona's Paradiso -- 9+; middle of the road -- 5; here 4-ish)
rounding up to a 4 overall. would return.

One of the best experiences I’ve had listening to amazing music on truly high quality equipment with an amazing DJ and scrumptious beverages. The sound in this little space is amazing, plenty loud to hear every detail and still be able to talk with your friends without straining. Just enough food to keep you honest and tasty too. Can’t wait to come back! Get the 6’s to9’s!

I was so looking forward to this “experience” been at a similar concept in Miami. Made reservations with my Gf, service was great, but.. I’m not sure if the music was not loud enough or the selection for a Friday night was subpar.. first we were quiet, but we were sat by a loud group, could not hear the music, drinks were good and strong, and the service was great. We were trying to show the place up to our friends from abroad and were told to be quiet a few times, after the music never got good enough or loud enough or anything at this point, we just left.. to sadly never go back; there are better experiences like this.. sorry

The equipment room is one of my favorite spots in Austin! Excellent and attentive staff make some of the tastiest and unique drinks I’ve get had. Their vibe of an old school Japanese record lounge is also very chill and great for a date or hang.
