Great place in South Austin. Plenty of cajun food offerings. The staff was fantastic and they did a stellar job packing out to go order.
Well worth a trip.
It’s always busy, which means that the food is great! Service is fast and attentive. I highly recommend this Cafe to anyone looking for something new to eat.
One of the best spots in town. A real gem. I got the catfish poboy.... woah.... highly recommend
South Austin Gem!
Tasty food and great service! Highly recommend!
Service was not great, long wait to get drinks ordered. The staff cleaning tables, was just pushing tiny bits of food around, not actually cleaning. App- was the best part of the meal.
I got the Shrimp Basket ($13.99), ordered the grilled shrimp with fries. When the plate arrived- I was very disappointed- my plate had 5 shrimp! 5! And a lot of fries that lacked seasoning. The sauces for the shrimp, we from a bottle and did not have great flavor.
On a Tuesday afternoon, it was loud, super crowded that the serves kept bumping into my husband. The music makes this place less welcoming, since you are practically yelling across a small table. There was nothing that would make us go back to this establishment.
The food used to be better. I had the Cajun grilled catfish. It's pretty dry & bland. The dirty rice is a little better.
My heart says one thing and my gut says something else. My heart says this place is struggling- very obvious changes have been made to food. My gut says the staff could care less if they were there. Just like always, we order the gator bites to start, they were obviously different than what we usually get. Then we order chicken fried steaks- everyone literally got the same thing but somehow one comes out as chicken fried chicken. Because we were starving it was eaten anyway, but when mentioned to the waitress , she just made a face and walked away. It was bland, the flattest piece of chicken with more breading than anything. We have been coming to this place for years, hoping it was just an off night all around.
It felt like I was magically transported to a NOLA cafe. The ambiance was great, the service was friendly, and the food was authentic. What a wonderful experience. Will visit again.
Wonderful place. Atmosphere was great. Definitely a Cajun vibe. Food and service was even better. Do yourself a favor and try it out

Burnt gumbo, barely any meat and they didn't automatically serve it with rice. However, the dessert pistolette was to die for.

I took a buddy who had never had Cajun. I got him to eat some alligator bites. Probably, the best we've ever had. Sorry about the picture we'd already ate about half of it before, I remembered to take the picture.... I had a stuffed pork chop, and he had a shrimp, po boy, and it was all incredible. The waitress helped him out since he was a rookie. Although I could have, it was great for her to jump in, place is fun. The walls are packed with memorabilia and Louisiana style stuff. Great place, and it's a little hole in the wall from the outside, so don't let that deter you...

What a hidden Gem! Just decided to eat here since I was in the area working. Great food. Friendly staff. And you may see the owner Curtis walking around.
I had the catfish Po boy with red beans and rice. The catfish was good. Not greasy. The bread was great.
Great decor and atmosphere.
I'd highly recommend giving the place a try. You won't be disappointed.
