The food was good but the portions were small compared to other Cajun and Creole places. For the size of our party, the service was excellent. The server was fast, friendly, and efficient. The music was or TV was a little loud so it made it a little hard to hear my group, but other than that it was nice.
Look. I was born in Louisiana. I go back home multiple times a year. I have a yearly ritual of going to the Saints home opener, no matter how bad we are. Any time someone in Austin recommends the food of my people to me, I go in with the intent to hate it. I'm so hesitant to trust a new spot that I have to approve of one other dish on the menu before I'll even try the gumbo.

But y'all. This is it. These folks are the real deal. This is THE gumbo...
As a Southern Louisiana boy, this place is a cozy reminder of home. The food, vibe, and service are all authentic. Regular live Cajun music and some of the best Cajun food I've had outside of Louisiana. Highly recommend to anyone, especially fellow Louisiana transplants!

Menu items I've tried that pass the test: Gumbo, Boudin, Alligator Sauce Piquant, Po-Boys (they have French bread), Red beans, and beer (a nice Abita selection)
