Ordered takeout for four. Sesame Chicken hard tasted old. Nothing in fried rice but soy sauce and a little egg. Beef Broccoli a little better but still bland. Other two dinners were dumplings my friends said they were ok. First and last time here

Ordered the Moo Goo Gai Pan with white sauce and added broccoli. With chili oil on the side. It was delicious and the portion size was huge! I took over half of it home and ate it the next night.

Finding good Chinese food in Austin is a challenge. Fat Dragon used to have decent quality food. Unfortunatley, it is now absolutely garbage. The restaurant is under new management and it is significantly worse than before.
Food is all overcooked and dried out, especially the meat. Is it chicken, or leather.
Making it worse, everything is way over salted. So salty. I need a drink just thinking about it.
On our latest order, they left out the soup dumplings and refused to acknowledge or provide a credit. Now, they're ripping customers off to make a little extra money. It's sad where this place has gone.
For your health and wellbeing, stay far away from Fat Dragon.
Definitely do NOT recommend.

The food is super authentic — no gimmicks, just solid Chinese cooking. Their mapo tofu is hands-down the best in Austin: spicy, numbing, full of flavor, just like it should be. The decor is simple, nothing fancy, but honestly, that’s a good sign. So many Austin spots focus on looks and forget the food — not here. Prices are really reasonable, portions are generous, and everything tastes homemade. Definitely my go-to for real Chinese food.

Every time I order delivery from here I forget that it’s not that good. Their soup dumplings are the only decent thing. The fried rice is somehow always dry and flavorless. The pork in the fried rice was meh. I ordered low mein and it was flavorless. Large portions but you can’t eat much of it bc it just isn’t that good. They don’t provide soy sauce or Togo silverware for delivery orders which I find strange bc you’d think they’d want you to use lots of soy sauce to help cover the fact that the food has no flavor. I have ordered so many times and probably won’t anymore.

Great food wonderful staff but the atmosphere is lacking. Still recommend visiting, but don't expect a flashy place just good food and good people

First off the food was mediocre at best, noodles were tough and the food poorly seasoned. We had to wait 30 minutes after ordering takeout in person; for shrimp lo mein, fish filet in garlic sauce, and an order of edamame (which they were actually out of and they made a suggestion to replace it with another of their fried appetizers (no thank you)). Restaurant was NOT pleasantly decorated or well ventilated. There was only 1 other group of 3 patrons and we were there at 6PM. The reviews definitely made it out to be much better than it was. Very disappointed, wouldn't recommend.

Amazing food. I really can't pick a favorite!! I feel like I order everything, every time. The cauliflower dry pot is great, I add chicken. The carnitas Gua Boa is wonderful. I love the Dan Dan noodles. I could go on and on.
