We enjoyed our meal, service was good, and the vibe is unique. Will come in and dine again for sure.

At least the restaurant responds here but clearly doing nothing inside. The place is a mess. The food has dropped off substantially since they opened, the staff have become substantially more rude and 90% of the time there is a mess up with the order… if the manager or whomever is responding here thinks that is how a good restaurant is run…everyone should just try a new place. Maybe the Chuy’s will be okay

My family and I had dinner recently at 54.
Amrielynn, our server was very sweet. She checked with us frequently to be sure we were doing OK.
I had the Salmon, which was delicious!
The atmosphere is great. Different sections for games, bar and dining.
We will be back!!

Yesterday I visited Five Four for the first time. It was so nice. I loved everything about this place. I will say the ladies at the hostess stand could have been a little more friendly or personable. They are the first people you see when you walk in. Anyway, the gentleman that sat us down was super nice and let us move to a different table. Our server was Vanessa and she was so cool. Very friendly, professional, and she made us laugh. My partner needed that because he had the worst day. We had happy hour drinks and nachos. Those were the best nachos I have ever had for just being nachos. Drinks were very good and had great prices. Will definitely return and hope we get Vanessa again as our server. Great vibes. Thank you!

Atmosphere is great. Plenty of TVs. Food was decent. The only thing is our table ordered 3 different tap beers and they were really watered down. Was a let down. I will say this. They did remove all tap beers from our tab. For that, i will give it another try. Maybe it was a fluke. They came through.

Would not recommend.

I ordered the kids’ flank steak, for my baby, which was not only rock hard but also had a disturbing smell that resembled something rotten. It reminded me of a smell like 48-hour-old period blood on a pad—absolutely unappetizing. There was no way I would feed that to my child.

I ordered the ribeye for myself, priced at $29, and while it was pink inside, it was incredibly dry and hard to the touch. Not sure how they managed that combination, but it wasn’t enjoyable.

I brought the issue to the waitress’s attention, and she was kind enough to feel bad about it. She offered to have me speak with a manager, but with a fussy baby in tow, I declined. I did, however, urge her to notify the cooks and the manager to quality-check the kids’ steaks because serving something like that is unacceptable.

Despite the poor food quality, I still paid for it, and also left a 20% tip because the waitress was pleasant. Writing this review to warn others to be cautious and hope the restaurant takes better care in the future

Can't comment on the food, by the other reviews seems like it's quite alright, but I've never had a chance to eat it. Third time in a row I've waited for hours only to have the order cancelled. Not sure why I tried 3 times on three separate days. Pretty sad. Pretty hungry. "Sungry," one might call it. Get it together, yo. You know when your mom is like, "I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed" and you're like wow, ouch, somehow that is worse. Well I am disappointed in you. You shall now be shunned.

Bingo !

I placed an order for delivery, and after two hours and multiple delivery drivers being replaced, one was kind enough to let me know that the order had been picked up by a stranger hours ago. The restaurant did not reach out, nor offer to remake/replace it. I guess just hope any random stranger does not pick up your food because they aren't checking that.

I’ve been to the new South Austin location 3 times now. Took my wife and daughter. I have ordered the $26 Filet Mignon each time. It has been good tasting and prepared correctly each time, however, the cuts have always looked a little off. Thin for a filet, and the meat “grain” looks like meat that has been tenderized with a tenderizing hammer…kinda broken down texture/grain. There just something not right about it. I know, the price is low, so you can only expect so much. But here’s where I’m beginning to think there’s more than meets the eye. Meat Glue, yeah, meat glue…transglutiminase. I can’t say for sure, and restaurants are not obliged to reveal if they use meat glue. But that would certainly explain the “off” qualities I am picking up on. I’m not saying it IS meat glue,. I make no claims whatsoever that it actually is meat that’s bound together…but I don’t think I can order another one and feel good about it. Many chain restaurants use meat glue to clot together stew meat into “filet” steaks. This would explain the thinner cuts and the beat up texture of the steaks.
All that being said, I would still go here and order other things from the menu.
The atmosphere is really great for a chain. It looks cool inside, and , service and servers have been very good each and every time. The food has always been prepared well, the asparagus is great! Probably a very good place to meet friends for happy hour drinks and appetizers. I may try the Ribs and Flank steak next time…but I won’t be ordering that filet.
Oh, and one other weird thing, there is only a revolving door for entry, no regular swing open door. So if your impaired or elderly, this could be downright dangerous. I would not take my Mom here just because of the revolving door. I’m sure there are emergency exits somewhere (I hope there are), because I would hate to see a bunch of people trying to exit at once. It’s a bit strange. Usually there are regular doors to each side of a revolving door. Anyway, every time we have been I’ve been a little amazed that it’s the only way to get in or out.
