Flying Pig Provision is tucked away on a small street just off Koenig in north-central Austin. It's worth seeking out though. I got a mediodia, a Cuban-style sandwich on some super fresh bread and topped with crisscrossing bacon strips. The owner is very friendly and mentioned that breakfast options are coming soon. Looking forward to trying that and everything else on the menu!
Started with awesome bacon tasters. The sandwiches were large and tasty. The house made pastrami was excellent. I here breakfast sandwichs on the weekends are coming. The only issue you will have is trying to find the place. Don't park off 2222, in the front. Go to the back off 56th st. and park next to the loading dock.
This place isn't very noticeable as it's tucked in the backside of an empty office building, but I've seen it many times walking my dog and finally decided to try them out. I should not have waited so long! Food was friggin fantastic. I tried the Flying Pig and the Sweet Carolina. The bacon is amazing in the Flying Pig and the Sweet Carolina is stuffed with delicious pulled pork, bits of fried jalapeño and onion.
