Being a huge #topchef fan, we just had to stop by to try some sweets from Foliepops, knowing that it is Chef Kevin's artwork.
Not only was it a delightful surprise to actually meet THE man himself, but the tartlettes?? ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The short bread cookie was condensed enough to hold together as I bit into it, but somehow with a light flavor + texture that was pleasing-- very well executed, in my opinion.
The fillings of each flavor were creamy, flavorful, but not too sweet at all-- we were impressed! The chocolate covering on top was more.of the same-- flavorful but light & not too sweet. I don't know how he did it, but from my standpoint -- it's perfect!
Hats off to you, Chef Kevin! Can't wait for your masterpieces to be available at HEB -- I plan to have/bring those tartlettes at any event I throw or attend ???
Says its open , drove out to location and the place does not exist.
Love the tartlets. Unique and special treat to bring to a party or gathering !
One of the most unique places that I've visited in Austin so far has to be FoliePops. They're a French pastry & coffee shop that customizes their items in a unique, never seen before, type of way!
Whether you're going sweet or savory - the method is the same. Simply pick your base, add a filling, and pick a topping! For the three I got, I did the following:
- Croissant filled with Bacon Cheeseburger topped with Horseradish Sauce
- Hashbrown filled with Truffle Croque Monsieur (Croque Monsieur is ham & cheese!) topped with Emmental Cheese
- Chocolate Rice Krispy filled with Vanilla topped with a Mango Pop
All in all, I liked all 3. The amount of variety you can get here with the endless options to choose from leaves you wanting to come back for more! Good flavors, great service and lovely patio ambiance - especially on Sunday mornings when the farmers market is going on and the music is playing! I will for sure be back to try more.
Great quiet office work establishment, great staff with great attitude
2 out of 5 times the brioche bun has been rock hard. So clearly either staff needs more training or they purposely use old stale bread.
Super excited to try this place but unfortunately while the door was open, no one was there at 1pm on a Tuesday.
I love FoliePop's. It's my go-to place after heading to the library every once a while. I love their desserts too and I got this to taste test with my family and they all loved it.
They should really update their website about the very small limited availability of items to order. Drove 45 mins for nothing.

Worst experience ever. This shop is closing; it serves only frozen tartelette leftovers. Coffee is disastrous. They should be honest, and professional and close the shop.
Stopped by twice now and no baked goods nor food. There is a girl wearing earbuds whose attention I struggled to get when I came in as her back was turned and she had her earbuds in. Clearly had no business working a cash register and food server as she had no interest in interacting with people. Her responses when I got her attention were monotone and singular. I have never tried this place before but wanted to try these foliepops and the French cuisine. But with no explanation as to what is going on and employees disinterested in interacting with potential customers I cannot understand how it can afford to survive in such expensive real estate.

We tried Folliepop's last weekend after the farmer's market in Bee Cave. Our experience was not good. We ordered two egg sandwich's and coffees. When our sandwiches arrived, they were warm on the bread side but with cold scrambled eggs inside. No problem, we asked for them to correct it. 5 minutes later, we were served our same sandwiches again with the cold eggs in the middle. We asked for it again to be corrected. Another 5 minutes and luke warm eggs in the same (now mangled) sandwiches arrived. No apologies were given through this and no attempt to get us new sandwiches after the multiple warming processes basically created a giant mess on a plate. This experience may be an outlier but it was so bad we felt compelled to write a review.
Loved the "Get off My Yard!" Brioche. Wish they had more Vegetarian options, but delicious nevertheless.
