Stood in line for 1.5 hours to try this bbq. The service was excellent. Both the brisket and the ribs melted in my mouth but the turkey was a little tough and needed more flavor.

Franklin lives up to all the hype . Definitely one of the best BBQ place one has to visit when visiting Austin. I preorder my Briskets, pull pork and Ribs 2 weeks before my visit to Austin,as I did not want to miss out on the food. When we got there there was a line up outside the restaurant . For pre order go to the back of the restaurant for the pick up, the people working at the preorder were so friendly and polite .
If you want to dine in , I would say the wait would be about 1-1.5 hours before you get a seat , that because the restaurant is not very big , The ambience is casual , pub like
Price point :If you pre order online the minimum order is 2 lb for each meat , you’ll end up enough for 4-5 person . So it’s better to order at the restaurant that way you can order as much as you want .It’s pricey but worth it
Food: The brisket is amazing, it’s melts in your mouth . The ribs so tender it’s falls off the bones and the pull pork is so very good, it’s soft , tender and not sweet which is perfect they give you the bbq sauce on the side .the coleslaw and the potato salad is really good too .

Do not miss going to Franklins .

It doesn't feel like a sit down and enjoy with your family and friends. It would be a place where you would go, eat fast and get out. It's very tight the atmosphere was nice. The employees were fantastic. The food was good, but I do not think I would actually come back unless someone we knew wanted to go to a historical place. I must say it was very expensive for the small amount of food. We got for 3 people. $130 2 drinks 1lb beef, 4 pork ribs and 1 sausage 2 small sides.

Franklin BBQ absolutely exceeds its legendary reputation! My husband, kids, and I were blown away by the vibrant, smoky aroma and welcoming atmosphere of this iconic spot. The brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender with a perfect peppery crust, the chicken was succulent and bursting with flavor, and the creamy, cheesy macaroni was a crowd-pleaser that had us all fighting for the last bite. We savored every morsel like it was our final meal, and the lively vibe made the experience even more memorable. Despite the line, every minute of the wait was worth it for this unforgettable taste of Texas BBQ--- highly recommended for locals and visitors alike!

We were EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with this establishment and their food. The pre-order process is a joke! You have to order a large amount (5 lb. minimum) for pre-orders. The bbq meat was overpriced. We CANNOT believe we spent over $235 for just meat only that wasn't good. The bbq brisket was extremely greasy and we didn't finish eating it. We don't understand all the hype about this place. We WILL NOT be back!!!

We started queueing at 8h30 am for a saturday lunch, and it was worth the wait ! We ordered a bit of everything and it was all delicious, the best barbecue I've ever had. The most tender brisket, fall of the bone (giant) beef rib, moist turkey, great juicy jalapeno saussages ... The pecan pie was great, pretty large with generous filling. And the service was very good, people were very helpful and friendly.

Tastes as advertised. If you ask me, would I wait 2-3 hrs for this? No, but there not many things I would wait 2-3 hrs for in terms of dining. Is it the best bbq I’ve had ever? Yes. By a large margin? No. If I had to redo it, wouldn’t get the turkey. Just ribs and brisket. I pre ordered the 5 lbs ahead of time to go so didn’t have to wait in the line. Great experience and would do it again. Just make sure you have enough people to crush all the food.

We placed a order for pickup. If you can go this route you don't have to wait in line but go to the rear and they have your order ready in a few minutes. I will admit the food was better than i thought it would be. I think the brisket is probably the best I've had if not second to le bbq but definitely top 2. Beef sausage was really good as well as the smoked turkey. Potatoe salad was great, and the pecan 🥧 yum. Definitely a solid choice if you like bbq.

We were very excited to have gotten in on a Tuesday afternoon without waiting 2-3 hours. Arrived around 1pm and only waited 1 hour. They still had brisket and pork ribs available. I don't know if I would really wait for 2-3 hours otherwise. The staff was great. Loved that they have a person come out to let us know what food was still available. Torcher waiting out in the hot sun. Loved that you can pack up some leftovers, because it's a lot of BBQ! Beef brisket was excellent, especially if you get a fatty part.
