We got there on a weekday an hour before opening to be safe - the queue was so friendly, you can go in for drinks and merch if you're there waiting before they've opened and once they open the queue moves fast. The team are so lovely and it was way more than we expected on all accounts - definitely go if you're in Austin and into bbq

Have wanted to experience Franklins BBQ for years. Set out on a Tuesday ready to stand in line at 10:20. Opened promptly at 11 and we were ordering by noon. Well worth the wait as the brisket melted in our mouths, can only be described as buttery. Coleslaw was perfect, potato salad MEH. Didn’t have beans or pies. No frills white bread onions pickles and jalapenos upon request. 4 sauces to choose from, recommend the original and spicy. The expresso sauce tasted like coffee grounds, didn’t try the vinegar based sauce. Now that I’ve been there and done that O can’t recommend enough.

Drove from Southern California for a BBQ road trip. This and a few other actually lived up to the hype. Plus we arrived hours before opening and hung out spoke with some great people who shared out love of BBQ.

After years of anticipation, the day finally came to purposely fly in from overseas, and stand in line for this legendary place!
However ….. seems I built my hopes higher than the reality. Tender brisket for sure, but taste / rub / smokiness was unfortunate well below expectations. Sides were so so. Great atmosphere and service, but given this experience, I don’t think I will want to stand in line for another 4 hours any time soon.
Got the T-shirt though 😊

Best brisket i’ve ever had in my lifeeeeee! Ribs also phenomenal, same goes for the pulled pork sandwich and sausages. The sauce selection is stellar although I will say I wish they had a couple more sides options.
I went over a week ago and I’ve still been replaying it in my head. Kinda crazy how good that brisket was.

Had the brisket, house sausage, jalapeño sausage and spare ribs. Sausage was good, brisket a bit fatty (even askings for lean cut), ribs were overly peppered. We had to scrape the pepper off in order to enjoy. Potato salad is commercial. Good yeah, but we've made better at home. Sorry.

To try this brisket, you'll have to queue for 3-4 hours (and that's on weekdays). Is it worth it? Yes, if you're a connoisseur. The meat is flawless: with a perfect smoky crust, incredibly juicy and melting in your mouth. It's not just food, it's a pilgrimage for meat lovers.

The best EVER !! THE GOAT OF BBQ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Franklin’s BBQ was definitely moist, tender, and super filling the flavors live up to the hype. The brisket especially was rich and juicy, and you can tell everything is smoked with care.
That said, the experience itself has a few drawbacks. The lines get long, and once you’re inside it feels a bit cramped with not enough seating for how busy it gets. The menu is pretty limited on sides, and the price is definitely on the higher end. Parking is also tight, so be prepared to walk a little if you go during peak hours.
Overall, though, it’s still a solid Austin BBQ spot worth trying at least once especially if you want that classic “Franklin’s experience.”

Brisket is good. It’s worth the wait for a tourist who has nothing better to do. I wouldn’t wait in line twice.
There are two bathrooms, an employee came out of one and another employee shot out of the kitchen and into the bathroom. Cut in line basically while the other cleaning lady walked past and wouldn’t make eye contact with me.
