during our visit in Austin TX, we visited Fresa’s 9th and la mar location, and I can’t recommend it enough!. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. They really know how to keep things moving without sacrificing quality.

Update - went to lunch yesterday and it was horrible. Food felt stale and tasteless. Even after sending it back to the kitchen twice, it still felt the same. Hope they take this feedback positively and improve.

My wife and I recently stopped by for lunch, and let me tell you—I’m a total food snob, so getting 4 stars from me is no easy feat! ??️

The space is super inviting—big, bright, and spacious with a lovely open patio. Perfect for those laid-back lunch vibes or a casual dinner under the stars. Plenty of seating, so no waiting forever! ?

? The Food:
Now, let’s talk flavor! We sampled a variety:
✅ Corn appetizer – yum!
✅ Tacos – flavorful, some better than others but solid overall!
✅ Roast chicken – tasty, but here’s the tea ☕: it wasn’t freshly made, which means no crispy skin. For me, crispy skin on roast chicken is the ultimate restaurant test. It takes skill to balance quality and timely service, and this is one area for improvement. That said, the chicken was well-brined and well-cooked, just not as fresh as I’d hoped.
✅ Churros – delish! Ending on a sweet note for sure. ?

? Prices?
Super reasonable, especially for the quality you’re getting. Can’t argue with that! Service was also top-notch—friendly, quick, and attentive. ?

I have been on a search for the best nachos in the world and Fresa's impressed! Not only that, but their service was quick. Atmosphere was nice, bright and clean with a great view. Food in general tasted good and of high quality with a noteable variety of seasonings that were very pleasant!
Would love to go back!

The food is great. I had an issue with my car in the parking lot that had nothing to do with the restaurant, but the manager Page helped me get a tow truck for my car and a ride home. That's great customer service!

Best Kale Caesar salad I’ve had in a long time. The beef and chicken tacos were also very good.

Fresa's Chicken Al Carbon offers some great tasting grilled chicken that reminds me of a very familiar taste back in my years in Central America. Both of their Achiote & Citrus chicken and Yucatan Spice chicken are nicely cooked and wonderfully seasoned, their tacos offered an alternative choice besides the chicken, the Totally Loaded queso was excellent as well. For those who are planning to visit the restaurant after reading this comment, I would recommend saving some space for their dessert Charros Split... ?

When you pay $15 for a bowl, you expect normal to decent portion size, but the portion size is very small. Not sure if it’s just the takeout, but every time I’ve gotten the superbol I’ve been hungry afterwards. It does not match the picture online at all for portion size. Tried multiple things on the menu. Food is good not great.

Late to the party. Completely missed that Fresa's opened a Westlake location with a To Go window. Beautiful location, same incredible food and drinks. This could be dangerous...in a good way.
