As some of the other reviews have mentioned, food and hotel wise, it's alright, but the service quality is not up to standard. This Holliday Inn and the Candlewood Suites across the parking lot belong to the same franchise and they share certain amenities. I came here for two meals, a dinner and a breakfast. The waitress was not very patient and polite (although kept her basic professionalism) during the dinner; they also seemed to be short staffed during breakfast hours, the receptionist said they were open but it took them sometime for the waitress to actually show up to take the order, and during the whole breakfast she was busy with taking other orders and was barely attentive to water refills and other requests like napkins and so forth.

Short of it - Save your time and money and go anywhere else.
After reading the reviews, I figured I'd check it out as this place is about 5 minutes from my hotel, and I was looking for ideas for another hotel for next month. It was awful. Everything except the cold fries was bad. (Messed up my sandwich. Yes. A sandwich. And left me the fries and salad that was supposed to be a starter while they remade the sandwich ) $48 total bill, just for me, and I wish I went to P. Terry's for dinner, for the umpteenth time this month.

We had a great meal and experience at the bar/restaurant. Sabrina, the bartender, was attentive and friendly. She suggested the G burger which was delicious. We are glad to try this place inside the Holiday Inn not far from the airport.
The menu on Google needs to be updated with the current menu and price.

This place could have been good but the poor planning of not having staff for good service, they only had one waitress, I cleaned my table so I could eat, they were never able to serve me a coffee that I ordered and got up for the fork, the waitress tried to do her best job.

It's not the best onion rings, but good for a bar. Happy hour was generous.

Waited 20 minutes for a server, and we finally had to walk up to the bar to ask for menus. Waitress continued to forget about us and return with requested items. She was no better at the register. We asked to split the check 50/50, which was way more than she could handle. I'm not sure if it was the system or what, but even after we told her what each ticket should be, she charged us incorrectly. The customer before us seemed to be having the same dilemma. All that aside, the Michelada I ordered was delicious as was the fish and chips and Philly Fries. I'll likely revisit when I return t9 the area for work, but I'll be sure to sit in another area.

So for a Holiday Inn, this place is far more charming than it needs to be. The food is bar food, but done very well and the service is exceptional. They have several wonderful people who work here, but we had the pleasure of being served by Cella, who unexpectedly turned out to be from Davenport - same place my husband was born! This is crazy rare in Austin. We wish her the best with her music.

Got the stuffed avocado and the trash bin philly fries. Hard to believe there is a 5 star little restaurant in a hotel. If your in Austin staying at Candlewood or Holiday Inn go eat here!
