Food was mid, service was lack luster, atmosphere was good with nice views and beautiful decoration. Music was a little too loud makes it hard to have table conversation. Be careful and make sure you look at your check they over charged for a menu item that was $13.50 on the menu but on the check was $17. Definitely false advertisement. Not a fan of feeling robbed, glad I checked my check. I wouldn't come back.

Food was ok. Meat was dry and they left a big chunk of fat on my birria. Consome greasy. Waitress did not provide quality customer service and nobody was in here. Ordered chips and salsa food came i asked about the chips and salsa and She said nobody brought it. Im like nooo just remove it. She didn’t offer it I had to tell her. She didn’t even know if they were still serving birria or how much it was. Ordered a flight. I’ve typed all this and previously was waiting and still not here. I’ve been here before And i loved it. After this visit i won’t be back. Well she asked me twice did i want a drink it never came. She said she didn’t hear us order the flight.

Servers were really nice, but really was not a huge fan of the food. I got 1 asada taco, 1 rajas taco, 1 chicken tinga taco, and a side of black beans. Beans needed salt. Asada taco had a little too much salt. And wasn’t a fan of the other two, but can’t quite put my finger on it. The restaurant patio was super cute and love the murals, but the inside atmosphere was not so great. Harsh lighting and the toilet seat was broken :( finally the parking situation was HORRENDOUS. Super dangerous parking lot to get into, potholes everywhere, and then the restaurant doesn’t even own the lot so you have to pay by phone to some random private company.

What happened to Gabriela’s! 😞 It used to be one of the most consistent places in east Austin both for food and service. Feels like the adults are gone and kids are running this restaurant. During our last visits we’ve had to get up more table multiple times to find our server for more drinks or just to close our tab.
I hope management gets it together soon.

Went to Gabriela’s Downtown and it’s a fun, energetic spot that mixes Mexican food with a party-like atmosphere. The place is colorful, loud, and busy—definitely more about the vibe than a quiet dinner. Food was solid: tacos and entrees were flavorful and filling, even if not mind-blowing. Drinks were a highlight, especially the margaritas, and they kept them coming. Service can feel rushed when it’s packed, but that kind of comes with the territory here. I’d come back for a lively night out with friends rather than a calm sit-down meal.
