Best South Indian restaurant in Austin (so far) found it better than Sangam, Suprabhat etc.
Tried the thatte idli, Idli vada combo, different dosas - everything was on point, and came in good quantity (except sambar - could do with more of it)
Nice interiors compared to other Indian restaurants

My wife's go-to place for Indian food. We liked the Godavari chain of restaurants when we were living in Charlotte and now here in Texas. Never disappoints.

The quality of food is below par for the prices that is being charged. The buffet was not being replenished quickly. Also the food is served with Plastic spoons and forks from a cheap store. The music was jarring sometimes. Only positive taste was the Beetroot halwa and dessert.

Had a dine in last night. Ordered 2 mutton biryani and 2 konaseema royyala biryani. The rice was so dry, it was microwaved. The bowl is more hot than rice. Disappointed.

**"Disappointing Experience"**
I recently dined at this Indian restaurant, hoping for an authentic experience, but I was disappointed. The food did not meet expectations in taste or quality. The flavors were bland, lacking the rich spices and depth typical of Indian cuisine. The dishes were either too oily or overcooked, which made the experience unenjoyable.
To add to the disappointment, the prices were quite high for what was served. Given the quality, I expected a more reasonable price point. Unfortunately, it felt like I was paying for the ambiance rather than the food itself. There are other Indian restaurants in the area with much better food at a more affordable price. Would not recommend if you're looking for good value and authentic flavor.

I had a worst experience eating here at Godavari, after eating food from Godavari we returned home and with in 10 minutes my husband started feeling stomach pain, vomiting's and I took him to the hospital. After checking doctors told this is food poison. I will never visit this place again and will never recommend Godavari Restaurant Austin location to anyone.
Happy to have landed here tonight- Butter Chicken, Chicken Tilkka Masala, Naan, Raita- SO GOOD. Love the stainless steel serve ware too, and great music. Our first visit and we are thrilled this great restaurant is nearby!

Tasty and generous portions, with the just hotness for the occidental taste. Will repeat
