This place really needs to get some new dart boards. I talked to the owner about it and he said he’s not spending that kind of money (around $100 a board) pretty much because the people who drink there are chumps. How can you own a bar and think a hundred dollars is too much? Save your money and go to a real bar. There are so many other ones in the area that will make you feel welcome, this isn’t one of those. Kind of like there stupid sign “Live, laugh, leave” What is that? It sure doesn’t feel very welcoming.

Solid dive bar. Door man was nice. Inclusive atmosphere. Big old patio. Bartenders were good. Perfect place for a couple quick drinks or a hang on the patio.

I was denied entrance at the door because “my eyes were too red” which supposedly was an indicator that I was too drunk. I was on a first date and had 1 drink at a bar across the street. We simply wanted to play a game or two of pool. I offered to take a breathalyzer and was denied access to a manager since her job was “too difficult”. I even took a selfie picture to see if my eyes were red, and of course they were not. I attempted to call the bar to make things right but the phone number appeared to be inactive.

Extremely rude staff. I have never experienced such an event in my life. I hope management fixes this issue since it is a fun venue and bartenders are usually very nice once inside.

Apparently "no ableism" is asking too much from their list of "nos" at the front, since the abled staff can do the same level of work as the newbie if not less and can keep their jobs while the newbie gets fired. And no, this isn't some rant by a disgruntled employee. I've only been living in Austin since August, and have only been using a bus for transportation since that time. I was unfortunately tardy for one day of work and that was simply because the bus times and stops kept switching to accommodate tourists for the great revenue machine that is ACL. Granted I should have prepared more accordingly for the festival's toll on us regulars, but that's a bit difficult when no one actually informs you of these things, including a staff that are sticklers for their policies (which, let's be honest, they don't enforce on older members of the employee body, other staff have told me this with confidence). But business decisions are business decisions. The same abled staff can even say to the newbie they were going to handle things, not handle them, and then get the newbie fired because of that. For example, I was told by a fellow employee who I was closing with that she was going to pick up the glasses that were left on the table. Speaking of closing, one of the managers or owners or whatever Lizz said I would eventually get better at it. One of the reasons I'm writing this review is because I felt misled and insulted by that change of direction in her confidence in me simply after two nights of closing. I know ethical consumption feels like the tooth fairy in this day and age, but how they hire and fire should also be an indicator of how they serve. I simply was not given the grace of a neurodivergent person who was coming to Austin to flee an abusive family. But I'm actually just looking at these 1 star reviews (including one that addresses the ableism of management) and I'm starting to think I may have dodged a very hypocritical trashy bullet.

Worst whiskey bar I have ever been too. Why would a whiskey bar serve pre-made old fashions? Go somewhere else

Besides mine read all the other reviews : I've been here two times the first time I came to have a drink and the front door man was nice as I waited for my food across the street. Today I was parked in their parking lot before they opened and someone (lady red hair) came out telling was blocking their entrance for non existent moving trucks and told me the parking was for people coming into the bar only. The amazing part was they weren't even open so I couldn't have been a customer if I wanted to.
