Wow, the chicken was so juicy and perfectly cooked. The batter was perfect, not too thick. The Mac n cheese was delicious. Perfect amount of cheesy gooeyness. We also tried the sweet potato pie. That was delicious and not too sweet with perfect flaky crust. Our server was really friendly and attentive.

This place is amazing!! If you’re looking for a down to earth place to have dinner and AMAZING fried chicken this is the place to go!!! Waitstaff was super friendly and on top of everything! I highly recommend Gus’s!!!

The fried chicken tasted good, but was too small and looked like a stunted chicken leg. Plus, a glass of Coke is more like a glass of ice cubes..... Overall, it's not worth the price.

After unsuccessfully trying to drag my family to one from coast to coast, I seized the opportunity while traveling solo. Verdict? I was right! Five solid, crispy, golden stars. The chicken here dethroned my reigning champion from Christy’s near Ellwood City, PA—sorry, Christy’s, it’s not personal; it’s poultry. Gus’s serves up chicken so crazily crispy you can hear the crunch before your teeth even touch it, yet somehow, it’s the juiciest, moistest chicken I’ve ever had. With its bare concrete floor, mismatched chairs, and Styrofoam cups, Gus’s doesn’t just serve fried chicken; it serves a vibe. Paper plates, no pretension, and pure, unadulterated chicken greatness. Long live the king of fried chicken!

So crispy, so juicy! I got the 2 dark pieces Chicken plate, and it was so delicious. I wish I had gotten the 3 piece because when I finished eating, I was craving for chicken. Highly recommend this place for great fried chicken.

Delicious fried chicken with a kick. Slaw was good. Beans were on a slight sweet side for my taste but I can respect it. I sat at the bar and the service was quick and attentive.

Visiting from Florida and googled best chicken in Austin. This place pulled up. It was hard to find a parking spot so I paid in one of those pay to park lots.
They had a opening at the counter, so sat down right away. Ordered the two piece spicy chicken breast, french fries and beans.
Absolutely worth the visit! Chicken was out of this world and fries were nice and crispy. I would highly recommend.
