Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken is what I will dream about for the rest of my life. I'm not being funny when I tell you, emphatically, that Gus' fried chicken is the hands-down BEST friend chicken, mac and cheese and collard greens that I've ever had the joy of eating. The chicken is moist and spicy on the inside, and is perfectly crispy and thin on the outside. I could devour the creamy mac and cheese by the poundful. The Greens were perfect - perfectly cooked and well balanced between the salt, pork and greens flavors. I also tried the Fried Okra which was amazing.
You absolutely cannot go wrong with a meal at Gus'! I would plan another trip back to Austin just to eat here again - I'm not kidding, it was THAT good!

Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken is hands down the best chicken spot in Austin.
The 4-piece chicken tenders were beyond incredible extra juicy, packed with flavor, and cooked to perfection. The seasoned fries were crisp, the fried okra and fried pickles were spot on, and the sweet tea was perfect.
From the food to the atmosphere to the friendly staff, everything here is amazing.

I really enjoy the chicken and sides at Gus's. Big juicy pieces, seasoned well with a little spice added but not too much. If you like fried chicken definitely try it. Absolutely some of the best service around.

There was a bit of a line the day I went because there was an event going on but I was still able to get seated pretty quickly. I like how the menu was simple. To me that means they specialize in one thing and that was chicken. Chicken, mac and cheese, and beans were delicious. Nothing too fancy just good food. Can’t wait to try again.

We had to try it as we love fried chicken . It was juicy and tender the flavor had a little bite but doable . It was actually lighter than the highly breaded fried chicken you normally get . I would recommend you stop in . Place was small and very crowded but go early .
