I can't even express the gratitude I feel for this place! Lillian is a stellar employee. I traveled from Amarillo to Austin. It was the worst trip and everything that could go wrong. Then my phone completely died 4 hours outside of Austin, and I couldn't get it to charge. I was extremely lost, disheveled and having a panic attack. I have Autism and I was beside myself in tears. Lillian took almost 30 minutes in between her busy days to talk me through. She used her tablet to help find my hotel, which I couldn't even remember the name in my state, write down step by step instructions, and guided me safe there. All i knew was half the hotel name and half an address. I can't express the gratitude I felt for her and Haley's cookies. I came back today to grab a coffee and cupcake because of her, which were amazing. The ladies, Victoria and Sara, that were here today were just as equally wonderful, This place is an asset to keeping Austin weird but also wondeful!!! Ty!

I’ve been ordering my birthday cakes from Haley Cakes for the past 3 years and have always been happy with the results until this year. I went online as usual to request a custom birthday cake, and after receiving the quote (before the payment deadline), I called to request a small change just to add extra wording on the cake.
I wanted to check if this would affect the price before paying, but when I called, I was told they could no longer fulfill the order. This was surprising and frustrating because I contacted them before the deadline. I explained that, but it didn’t matter to them the only response I got was that “we’re too busy.”
I understand being busy, but this lack of flexibility and care for returning customers was disappointing. After 3 years of consistently ordering from them, this experience has made it clear that customer loyalty isn’t valued. Once I find a new bakery, I won’t be giving Haley Cakes my business again.

We ordered a mini wedding cake from Hayley Cakes and got exactly what we wanted delivered right to our venue. The cake was adorable AND delicious. We put the leftover cake out the morning after the wedding at our brunch, and it was gone within 2 minutes. We can't wait to go back for our one year anniversary and order the same cake!

I was SO excited to order a cake from here as I previously went to college at UT when Hayley Cakes and Cookies was first started and had one small location. I was in-town for a friend’s birthday and decided to order her a $75 cake from here.
I am really disappointed with how the final cake was designed, I asked for the colors to be exactly like the example - when I picked up the cake the colors were bright neon, not like the example on their website. Even the worker behind the desk agreed with me that this did NOT look like the online photo.
The cake also appeared sloppy with poor piping. The most disheartening was the neon green leaves- looking nothing like the photo.
The worker behind the desk assured me that the manager would reach out to me to discuss, their response “we gave you what you asked for.”
Very disappointed and I will be going elsewhere in Austin for custom baked goods. I’m surprised that Hayley herself allows team members to stray from product photos on their website.
Looking at the other reviews it looks like the company needs a customer service overhaul…

I ordered the conversation heart set for Valentine’s Day and I received dry, hard, crumbly, discolored cookies! They were not fresh… so disappointing! I’ve ordered other cookie sets in the past and have had great cookies these however went in the trash.

I’ve gotten custom cookies from Hayley cakes before so I was excited for them to make my daughters 2nd birthday cake. Sadly it was really disappointing when I went to pick it up. It looked nothing like what I had requested (photo 1 cake I got vs photos 2,3 inspiration pictures) I had listed that I wanted the writing to be mint colored and pink as the main color. Instead the writing was a dull blue with a fire engine red number 2 and pink was hardly even used. I never requested red and it wasn’t in any of the photos so I’m not sure why it I as used as the primary color. When I expressed this to the lady there to see if anything could be done to correct it, she was very dismissive and said there were no cake decorators there. She didn’t really offer any solution and gave a half hearted “sorry”. She agreed on my suggestion to give me some pink icing and I was able to fix it up a little at home. Perhaps sending the customer a proof may help to prevent this in the future if you don’t have cake decorators available during business hours to fix things like this.

This place is useless. They never answer the phone (all locations failed to ever answer), causing me to have to come to the shop. Came in on a Monday to order a birthday cake to pick up on a Saturday. The employee, looking at a tablet, told me I couldn’t get a simple cake for another 9-10 days with no kind of effort to accommodate or problem solve and just blindly relying on the tablet. Really lacking in human interaction and customer service.
I wish the cookies in the store were more fresh. I would think that they’d make more money if they just had a limited amount of cookies per day that’s made the day of. The ones that didn’t get sold fast are in stock at least for one week. I went in to get some cookies and they were so dry. I have ordered custom cookies in the past and were so fresh. Now I just never go in and buy, I just order but sometimes I wish I could just go in and buy, with freshness guaranteed.

I ordered myself a cake for my birthday. They were so easy to find when I typed in "Vintage Heart Cakes" on google. Even better, they had pictures and pricing on their website! The website allowed me to pick colors for my cake and there was a spot for me to type in more clarifying details I wanted for my cake. After that all I had to do was choose a pickup date/time and click "order" and pay! It was so easy!
The week of my birthday I decided I wanted a different color for my cake, I emailed them about 5 or 6 days before pick up and they were so quick in getting back to me on my color choices and told me it wouldn't be a problem at all.
I had my husband pick up the cake for me and they gave him a cookie while he waited! The vintage heart cake was everything I had wanted AND more because they added even more detail than I anticipated on the top of the cake. I was so pleased with the cake; it's the prettiest thing ever and I held it up in so many of my photos with friends at my party. Everybody loved it and we enjoyed it later that evening with a small group (about 10-12 people). I ordered a small vintage heart strawberry cake which came with a strawberry jam filling; it was delicious and moist!
10/10 cake on ease of ordering, easy pickup, beautiful decoration, and great taste! Would love to order from them again in the future. Thank you for making a 36th birthday girl so happy!
