One of the oldest private membership clubs in Austin. Wonderful ambience. Exceptional staff. Fantastic view of downtown Austin.
We spent a total of $270 for dinner for two, plus almost $70 bar tab for a beer for a friend, two wines and one martini. We didn’t eat all of our meat entrees and asked for a doggie bag for our three pups at home. Nope, “we don’t do that” we were told as the plates were taken away. As we left we noticed that one in our dinner party left with a take-away bag.
Years ago, when my wife and I were active journalists, we were offered a membership. I’m ashamed that this Austin institution has become so hoyde-toydy that they don’t do what every other expensive steak/seafood restaurant in town is pleased to do for customers.
Valentine’s Day dinner
We have been members since 2006 (with a brief absence during Covid). We’ve always enjoyed their amazing food, prepared by some of the best chefs in Austin. Last night, we had the most wonderful and magical dinner. We ordered the shrimp appetizer. I had the candied bone-in ribeye, my husband had the chicken fried steak. We ended the lovely meal with our favorite dessert, Key lime pie. Our server, Jimmy, was delightful and respectful of our time together for a special dinner. The room was beautifully decorated with Christmas lights, and it was so magical to look out the huge window over Austin. The food was truly amazing. The evening chef, Joe, seasoned and cooked every dish to perfection. We have been to many high-end restaurants; Morton’s, Ruth’s Chris, McCormick and Schmicks, Fleming’s, Sullivans, The Chop House, Capital Grille, The Palm, etc. So, we know good steaks. Although my steak presentation was not on par with what I expected (I expected a beautiful presentation), it FAR exceeded my expectations. The Candied Bone-in Ribeye was the BEST steak I have ever eaten! Thank you Chef Jo! AND, a huge Thank You to Judge Lee Yeakel for the pursuit and accomplishment of bringing to the Headliner’s Club, an astonishing high performance grill, and sourcing THE BEST beef in the country! No need to go to any local high-end steakhouse when you can get the best steak right here at the HeadLiners.Footnote: Although we appreciated the complementary potato chips and dip (after getting our tea and water), chips and dip seems more appropriate to be served in the Press Box. Instead, we would have much preferred and enjoyed some sort of bread to have had with our meal.
Excellent service, friendly staff, great food, and great members.

Not much to say about the Headliners Club that hasn't been said already...Delicious food, impeccable service, and an amazing view of downtown Austin from the top floor of the Chase Bank Bldg.I was attending the 90th birthday party of an old family friend, so it was a wonderful evening.
An excellent Club! We came from Eagle Pass and reserved on the 21st floor. It was beautiful and every corner was detailed to its fullest. Very elegant and spacious for any size of meetings. Mens restrooms have a great view amd better than alot of hotels. Very recommended!
