Last night we had a 6:15dinner reservation,more than half of the tables inside were empty and it took 30 minutes for us to receive an iced tea and an old fashioned. We had to flag down our server to order our entrees, I ordered the chicken risotto which was okay and my husband ordered the redfish po boy. The server told us after over an hour that our food was going to take longer and asked if we wanted to order another round while we waited. When the food finally came out I tried my husbands po boy after he said something was off and it tasted like it was bad and really fishy. My husband is not one to ever send food back and will eat food he doesn't like but bad fish is not one of them. We told the server and he offered to take the plate away and said “that's never been his experience with that dish” and then returned to us to say he “took a bite from the plate and didn't think it was fishy” LOL. We eat a lot of fish and redfish should be mild, sweet and buttery and this was NOT the case. This response made us feel uncomfortable, like we were being accused of being dishonest lol? Hillside rotates their menu so as people who love fish we were excited to try and we know things happen but that response was unacceptable. He did take it off the bill and I gave my husband half of my plate since another dish would've taken forever. We had to flag down a server who wasn't ours to get the check and when we asked if the po boy was taken off she said the same thing, “I've never had that experience with the fish but blah blah..”I don't know if this is what they're trained to say but I do not care what your “experience” has been, we came in and ordered fish that clearly tasted bad to us end of story, just because the cook made it right for you before doesn't matter. We understand things happen but this response is simply rude and inappropriate. We are frequent guests who always bring in friends/family and will not return. Go to Intero/Clarks/Bulevar/ for fantastic food/service.

I've only had great experiences here! Many enticing menu options and the restaurant itself has wonderful ambiance, I love looking around at all the beautiful details around the restaurant as I am enjoying my meal. Have had great service the several times I have been.
