I stopped by the Hyde Park Home Slice this past Sunday and had an especially great experience. Chris took our order and immediately stood out. He mentioned he’d had a long, busy day, but you would never know it from his attitude. He was upbeat, patient, and genuinely friendly the entire time.
He handled our questions with ease, joked around with us when I mis-pronounced one of the pizzas, and overall carried himself like someone who really takes pride in his work. It’s rare to see that level of positivity at the end of a packed shift, and it made our visit noticeably better.
As always, the food came out fast, everything tasted great, and the whole staff was welcoming, consistent with why I love this location just as much as the South Congress one.

My wife and I got married in Austin a few days prior, and later decided to make a stop at Home Slice, and that’s where we were blessed to cross paths with Lenora. We had no idea that a simple stop for pizza would turn into one of the most memorable parts of our night.
Lenora was incredibly compassionate, caring, and genuinely amazing. She didn’t just serve us, she celebrated with us. The way she spoke to us, the warmth she showed, and the joy she shared made us feel like family. On a week that already meant so much, she somehow made it even more special.
It’s rare to meet someone who pours so much heart into what they do, but Lenora did exactly that. We’ll never forget her kindness, and we’re so grateful our paths crossed. Home Slice is lucky to have her.

Home Slice has more online hype than any other restaurant in Austin. Interestingly, the love is mainly for their sandwiches, not their pizza. And boy howdy do their sandwiches live up to the hype. The bread is delicious but leaves room for flavors from freshly sliced meats & cheese, homemade vinegary spread, and a perfect balance of vegetables. It's hard to describe how delicious these sandwiches are - you simply have to try one. Of course, the pizza and sides are also amazing! Service is incredibly quick and the servers are more efficient and kind than any other restaurant in Austin. The vibes are immaculate, whether you dine inside or out. It's kid friendly, but also has a fantastic adult drink menu. The only struggle is parking - which is admittedly 100x better than the other Austin location. If you're visiting Austin or laying down roots here, you must try the internet's favorite sub sandwich shop.
