Cool spot for live music. It gets very crowded and a long line forms so get there earlier and bring ear plugs.

Awesome venue for metal!!!
Saturdays at hotel Vegas are always great. But I’ve never seen such low attention or care given to the restrooms. For the outdoor portion there were only porta-potties and they were literally overflowing. Absolutely disgusting and complete disregard for their customers.

Wild West exterior - punk rock interior bar with killer music nightly. Classic dive with shitty beer and the kind of nonchalant bartenders you hope for in a place like this. The owners a great and put on some of the best entertainment the city has to offer. During SXSW it’s a must go to destination for the authentic Austin music scene experience.
It’s east 6th street so as the condos go up so do the prices and the back patio now attracts tourists etc. so not the intimate vibe it once was but it’s still probably the most Austin defining place for me. Food carts in back slap too.

I have never been treated so rudely. As I was exiting, I asked multiple people if I could leave with my drink (a high noon), and no one would answer. I walked out with it, and a man working there followed me past the exit, touched my arm and torso, and grabbed my drink, without saying a word. I was confused and followed him back to the bar exit, where he’d immediately thrown the drink away. They claimed I was “hiding my drink,” which apparently gives him a right to grab me. (Several feet outside the restaurant, I tucked my hands into my jacket because it was cold. I walked out with my drink very clearly in my hand.) The lady working then told me I “was drunk” and she “was sober,” so I needed to obey her and walk away. (This woman had not seen me at all this night, I was not intoxicated, and certainly not visibly intoxicated.) She continued to be incredibly rude to me as I asked her simple questions. I have never been to Austin. I have no idea about the leaving with alcohol rules. I would have absolutely finished or thrown away my drink if I knew I could not leave with it. The man and woman at the exit were incredibly rude and condescending to me, and it genuinely ruined the end of my night in Austin. I would not treat any person like I was treated as I left. I tried to interact with the workers (who I have so much respect for, I don’t want to claim that this job is not hard) as positively as possible and was treated very poorly.
