This BBQ is definitely OUT OF THIS WORLD! 🌎 🚀
Definitely recommend arriving right at the opening hour or shortly after, due to the popularity and the quickly forming line of customers. The average wait time was approximately 1.5 hours to arrive at the counter, order, and be seated quickly.
The staff is all very kind and the seating and environment inside is spacious and clean. Highly recommend the peach-glazed pork belly bites seen in the picture as these are by far the best I've ever had yet.
Overall, this restaurant is a must-stop site we searched ahead of time before arriving in Austin. I recommend making some time to stop by and check it out, you won't regret it! And make sure not to eat before so you arrive with ample appetite, trust me, you will have leftovers!

This is one of the best BBQ's I have had. My favorite here is the smoked brisket and the peach tree pork belly. Every time I have been here the wait to get the food has been over an hour. As you are waiting in line the smell from the smoker outside makes you hungry.

Strong 8 to light 9 smoked Scalloped potatoes. Best I’ve had for sure.
Strong 8 pimento cheese. Well spiced with a good texture. Very flavorful and a cool color.
Light 8 Mac cheese. Saucy style
7/10 slaw. Pretty spicy and flavorful but maybe undersalted
5/10 Peach tea pork belly. Flavor was okay but texture was mildy unpleasant. I think I want belly this thick to be crispy but even then I don't love it.
Lamb was whatever, idr.

Manager kicked out my daughter while I was in line for over 20 mins. All the bbq I saw looked very average.
Line moves about 30x slower than Terry Blacks.

This was just unbelievable. We had five guys take this restaurant on. We showed up at 10:00 as we wanted to make sure we were first in line. The staff, when they opened, helped walk us through how much we should get for the five of us. They also recommended we do half sweet tea and half unsweetened peach tea, which was amazing. We finished the whole tray, and I’d love to describe what we ate, but that’s impossible. It was truly the best food I’ve ever had. The best part is the owner came up and talked to us. They were so nice and down-to-earth. Michelin star worthy, truly.

First time trying this establishment. The brisket was expertly prepared. Excellent bark, smoke ring, moist, and tender. It was a little salty for me. The pork ribs also were delicious. A nice rub and just a little sweetness. The 1963 sausage had good flavor but the casing was a little tough. The gouda mac-n-cheese was lip smacking good. The smoked scalloped potatoes didn't have much of a smoke flavor but were still good. We didn't care for either bbq sauce but recommend the pickle and onion garnish. I spoke with the owner and the pit master. The pit master spent a good 10 minutes with me. I learned a few things and appreciate the conversation. Indoor/outdoor seating. January and February are low season with about 30 minute lines until 1230, no line when we left at 1pm.

So extremely busy they ran out of most meats while standing in line. Opens at 11 and by 1:30 had no goo choices

I’m a first-time visitor, but I’ll never be returning. We spend $125 for 2 people. The brisket and short rib were way too salty and heavily seasoned. My friend warned me against trying it, but I was intrigued by the Michelin-starred recommendation. Unfortunately, I was disappointed.
On the positive side, the lamb taco and peach-glazed pork belly were not overly salty and stood out from other BBQ places I’ve visited. The pork rib, however, was just average and felt dry.

Absolutely phenomenal food! Hands down best sausage of my life (and the entire group shared the sentiment)! They had great traditional sides. The Mac and Cheese is a must order. We went on a Sunday and they had tomahawk Ribeye steaks as one of the specials. It was cooked extremely well and had a nice smoky flavor. The brisket and lamb were also high quality. Arrived about an hour and half before opening. We were the 3rd group in line. The line can take some time, so I do recommend arriving early with your group and just include hanging out as part of the experience!

Fantastic cosmic BBQ @ interstellar! 1963 Polish Sausage, all pork with marjoram, garlic and black pepper. Cheshire pork spare rib; a little sweet, a little heat; dry rub, no sauce. Smoked gouda mac and cheese. Banana puddin'!

Drove from Bastrop to try this place out since it says online they close at 4pm. We expected them to be sold out of some items but not sold out of the whole menu at 1:30pm apparently. Not even potato salad? May I suggest to change the closed hours to 2pm on the website if you’re not serving any food at all till the 4pm close time? All to say, we still hope to try it another time when we want to make the drive as I’m sure the food is good.
Brisket for the win! They gave a sample that had a bit of fat and it was sooo good. Tried the peach pork belly, also very good. I did not get the over smoked or artificial peach taste others were talking about.
They offered sliced T.Hawk with Chimichuri...meh! Difficult to go from juicy tender brisket to something that needed more work to chew on. Turkey...won't be getting that again. I'm open to new stuff but wasn't prepared for the experimental turkey. Turkey texture, but didnt taste like turkey. Don't know what it was. Sausage was pretty good! Beans were good! Scalloped potatoes also were good. If I return, skipping the turkey and skipping the t.hawk and will use that money on other items.
Waited over an hour. If you have the patience it's worth a try. Otherwise just go to Smokey Moes or Poke-Jo's for quick BBQ fix or place your order in advance.
