For the amount of money we spent here, we should have had a 5 star experience but sadly that was not the case. $28 for a half glass of wine? No thanks. Had the snapper and filet. Food was just okay. My husband was served his lobster bisque without a spoon? We were seated in a dark corner and it was very warm. The restaurant was full so it was very noisy. Wouldn't come back.

We believe the waiter forgot to put our order in the kitchen. (Derek) We waited over an hour for our entrees to arrive. We were never offered more drinks or provided an explanation of the menu. Diners around us arrived after us and enjoyed a full meal before our entrees ever arrived. Very disappointed in the service for a restaurant with this reputation.

Fantastic experience! Serena was our sommelier for the evening and gave us wonderful recommendations for our anniversary experience. The croquettes were delicious and our ribeye was on point. Definitely a place to go back and try out other dishes and wines.

Arrived to a lovely room for a late dinner... seated promptly. Staff introduced themselves. Wine took a while to arrive...nicely decanted. Lovely first courses with standout tortellini! Entrees arrived.. perfection! All important potatoes were forgotten! Arriving only after we had finished dinner and ordered dessert. Not a great plan at this high price point. Chocolate soufflé needed a little more time in the oven. With so many fine dining choices in Austin J's will need to shape up a bit!!

We hosted a special family celebration dinner in the private Napoleon dining room adjacent to the wine cellar. We furnished the flowers and candles lit the table that seats a maximum of 12 people. I had to ask our waiter to take food orders when guests wanted a second drink. The food was good, but not nearly as good as I expected given the over the top pricing. The crab beignets ($16) were very good but the escargot (2 pieces for $14) was very disappointing. Others really loved the deviled eggs. The crispy fried gulf oysters ($24) is an historically famous dish here and were wonderful as expected. The Caesar salad was very good but pricey at $24. My 8 oz tenderloin ($68) was ok but didn’t compare to ones my husband cooks at home. Those that got the 6 oz wagyu beef ($95) described theirs as more rich and buttery and they seemed please. There are six sauces to choose from as toppers. My Bernaise helped my choice. The grilled broccolini ($14) was tough to cut and peppery but good. I loved the crispy Brussel sprouts ($15) and the potato puree ($15) was really good. Sides served two to three people. Wines were marked up 150%. We had a $2000 minimum but they add 20% service charge to that and then want you to add more when the credit card screen takes your payment. No thanks. We were there for over 3 hours. While the private dining room made it extra special $2600 is a lot for 11 people and mostly non drinkers. We have always loved Jeffrey’s but this visit wasn’t up to my expectations.
Parking: There is little to no parking outside valet option as restaurant is located in an historic residential neighborhood
Jeffrey’s is hands down the best steakhouse! I’ve been here over 4 times and every time the food has been incredible and memorable. However, I saw the service go downhill last night. It is both a good and a bad thing - I think Jeffrey’s is starting to get the recognition they deserve for amazing food, but they can’t keep up with the demand. I hope Jeffrey’s will address their service issues and get back to where they were.

Wonderful experience at Jeffrey’s! Our waiter Derek was excellent and the meal was exceptional as expected.
Congrats on the Michelin award as the atmosphere here is very sophisticated and appropriate for such an accolade. However, last time I came here I ordered from the main menu and found the portions too small so this time I ordered a steak and basically I get much better meat from Whole Foods. So I'm somewhat perplexed as to what to order if I come here again. Maybe try the tenderloin, as it's hard to mess up. Did enjoy the cheese selection for dessert. Odd that they make you wait in the hallway for a table when most of them are empty (?). The staff is very pleasant and easy to talk to.

Went in for Monday Happy Hour and oh my goodness my recommendation is to order ~everything~
Every dish we got was incredible. The deviled eggs was particularly special - the perfect amount of truffle flavor, and the Wagyu tartare was a beautifully executed. I tried the pasta and it was delicious.
All in all, Jeffrey’s is a must try in Austin - especially on Monday evenings at the bar!
