I have been coming to your restaurant every year for 10 years minus the Covid shutdown. I always enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. However, I went there last night for my birthday and again the service in particular our waiter Braden and the atmosphere was five star however I felt the food was subpar at best. I ordered a 12oz New York strip my date ordered a snapper. The steak was supposed to be medium rare came out overcooked with little flavor and was luke warm. The snapper also had a very mushy texture and strong smell. Generally, it was a big disappointment, considering how much I had raved about you to my date. For the price of the food not including drinks, $250 , it was not worth it. I don’t know if the chef was off that night or didn’t care. In any event I will not be returning.

Absolutely one of the best fine dining steak houses. Steaks were spectacular. Duck rillets and frog legs 5 starts. Collin was stunning server and knowledgeable in food and wine. Desserts fantastic. This review is allotted pointless as everything was stellar. Lobster bisque? Yes. Cranberry tart? Yes. Don't fret. Just go.

I can see why this place has been around so long and is still so well regarded. We've been wanting to go for years and finally made it happen for a birthday dinner. The steak was incredible, the deviled eggs were amazing....really everything. And of course, ilyou have to have great service if you're going to charge high prices, and they do. Even the cocktails were excellent. Definitely worth a special occasion! One of the best steaks you'll ever have.

My wife and I visited Jeffrey’s Restaurant in Austin on December 18 around 4:45 PM and sat at the bar. We have dined here multiple times, though this was our first experience at the bar. We came directly from traveling out of state and had been looking forward to this visit, especially as it coincided with my wife’s birthday month.
The food was excellent and service was adequate until payment. My wife and I are Hispanic and it was obviously visible the difference in treatment. Our card was briefly declined due to recent out-of-state travel and was resolved within minutes. During this time, I observed the bartender Rick share our transaction receipt with another bartender, after which they looked at us and laughed.
This behavior felt judgmental, unprofessional, and a clear violation of guest privacy. Regardless of circumstance, financial transactions should be handled discreetly and respectfully. Although we left a tip, the experience was disheartening and has impacted our decision to return. I would not recommend bar service based on experience.

Having lived in all three major cities in Texas, Jeffrey’s is a top tier experience.
The service, atmosphere, and food are world class. I can wholeheartedly say that their pricing is well justified. Their drink offerings are superb, I discovered my new drink of choice in their English Milk Punch.
Having celebrated some important milestones here, I highly recommend booking in advance for special occasions, you will not be disappointed.

Jeffrey’s has set the standard for food and service excellence in Austin for years. Sunday is half price wine night (any bottle!) so we make quarterly overpriced trips from San Antonio to enjoy date night. Our most recent date put us with our server Jacob in the bar. We love to people watch! Jacob made our night with his menu and wine knowledge, as well as his most excellent service attitude.
The experience was excellent. The food was excellent as well as the service was magnificent. Next time we are in Austin. We would most definitely come and visit again.

Very nice experience in a beautiful and gracious setting. I didn't love the menu for me (not a steak eater) and the things I did order were ok but not special. I got a bib salad so drenched and soggy in dressing it was inedible for me. When they cleared, they didn't question if anything was wrong and I didn't offer the critique. The rest of the food was fine and served in a lovely way. My husband liked his steak. Even though I didn't love the food it's the nicest looking and most refined service I've found in Austin and I'm sure we'll go again.

This Austin's most romantic restaurant. Dress to impress and your date will definitely love the moment. The lighting sets the mood everytime.
