I placed my order through Jim’s website which uses DoorDash. I placed my order at 9:53am. I get there shortly after, closer to 10:05am and walk in expecting a short wait before my food is ready. Boy was I wrong. There is a table for DoorDash and Uber eats orders that are ready to be picked up which nobody is manning or watching over so I assumed mine would be placed there when it’s completed. Some time goes by and still no order completed text. There was only 1 order placed on the DoorDash table however before I could check it, it was quickly taken by someone else. I then got in the check out line to ask the cashier about my order. 10:18 rolls by and I’m still in line for the cashier. However finally I speak to the cashier and they tell me my order should be out soon. I go back to the DoorDash table and continue to stand and wait. Around 10:30, a lady by the name Mary came over to tell me she apologizes for the wait but it seems like someone might have already picked up my order. At this time I recognized the staff thinks I am a DoorDash employee picking up an order for someone else. I informed Mary it is my personal order I am waiting on and in fact have not picked up. She seemed hesitant but recommended I speak to the manager, who despite my staring at him hasn’t made eye contact or spoken to me. I go back to the cashier and inquire on my order and the cashier goes over to the window/take out area and doesn’t comeback for a number of minutes. I eventually make my way back over to the DoorDash table where I then overhear Manager DANNY say “I am not making another one for an order which has already been picked up. We are busy just like they are.” The cashier then comes over to me stating my order has already been picked up. To which I inform him,
I am not a driver and it is my personal order which I placed that I am waiting on. He proceeds to walk off without saying anything. Some more time goes by, it’s about 10:45 at this point and Mary comes back over to tell me she’s trying to get the kitchen to remake my order and hopefully it will be out shortly. While I’m still standing, waiting, I look over to see a nice older couple and the Lady of the two was looking back at me shaking her head. She stated they messed up on her order as well and how her and her husband have been watching my situation unfold before them and cannot believe what is happening. I told them MANAGER DANNY refuses to speak to me and am flabbergasted at how terribly he manages. From my near hour of observation I can tell what kind of a manager he is and how he does not know how to properly delegate or handle difficult situations. And if he has a problem with the DoorDash system they have set up then he needs to figure out a new system. To which the couple agree and state they will be staying to see how my situation ends. 10:54 rolls around and amazing Mary brings me my order with what seems like a very sincere apology and we wish each other a good day. I get to my vehicle to check the order and find it was not complete. I go back inside, hail down Mary and inform her of my findings. She immediately corrects my order and I head home. On my drive home, I hilariously receive the DoorDash text at 11:02 stating my order was ready for pickup. from 10:05am-11:00am I was at this Jim’s location and not once did MANAGER DANNY say anything to me. I’m not expecting a meal comp, I simply wanted an apology from him. Especially after hearing him say he refused to make my order again after someone else came up to their table and took it and standing waiting an hour for my order. I wish I had cash on me to give because Mary deserves the biggest tip and 5 stars. She was the only helpful employee I spoke to and I hope she receives better management soon. Manager Danny, if you’re reading this - DO BETTER.

Met a friend between lunch and breakfast meals. Could've ordered either here. Plenty of food and our waitress was a rock star.

This place never disappoints us, my partner and I have been coming back for years and this place always feels like stepping into a 90's time capsule. The food is delicious no matter what we end up ordering, and our servers are super sweet and helpful.
This time we had Ginger, and she was the definition of above and beyond.
I ordered the biscuits and gravy without the sausage, and my partner had the fried shrimp and mozzarella sticks. After the first bite we ate so quickly I'm sure it looked like a blur. The portions are generous and the prices reasonable.
Thank you Jim's, for being a place for everyone to feel at home.

Jim’s Restaurant never disappoints. The service is friendly, the food comes out hot, and the portions are always generous. It’s the kind of place that feels comfortable the moment you walk in. Whether it’s breakfast or a quick dinner, Jim’s is always a solid choice.

Me and My Fiancée went a couple months back and we just got the weirdest looks nobody checked in on us or took I order as we sat down for 20 -25 minutes . I really felt outcasted and out of place . If you are African American the atmosphere is not to welcoming is almost you get looks as if they questioning why are you here?
Never again will I dine at the place the demographic of people mostly older Caucasian people so you can only imagine the awkwardness of sitting down and not getting served .
Joshua 6’8 was our server and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

This place is an older building that needs a face-lift badly. Food was good and our server was efficient. Prices fair!

I've been coming here for many years and expect to continue that. The reduced operating hours does make it very difficult to now be and to come though. Recently, for the first time in several months, I was actually around during their opening hours and was able to go again. It was a relief to see that the food was still as good as ever. A great traditional diner, and highly recommended

Our favorite breakfast spot! We are here once a week minimum. Sitting at the counter with Jinger is a must. I can’t recommend this place more. The food is great and the atmosphere is better. Everything you’d want from a classic breakfast place.

Tonight we stopped in for dinner and we sat down in a booth we were fine until we saw a roach. That really killed our appetite and we packed up our food to go. We saw a few more one tried to crawl on my son. I did let the General Manager know. I won't go back until they have deep cleaned and had pest control

I love Jim's for their authentic diner feel. Honestly, walking in the door transports me back to an earlier era.

As a former homeless individual, Jim's has always been a wonderful place to visit. This applies when gainfully employed in not. They are a staple in Austin and have in my opinion, the best omelets around. The staff is kind, friendly, and customer focused, while the management's effective leadership is evident. Thank you for the biscuits and gravy while homeless and for the delicious omelet that I paid for now that I'm employed again!
