Great spot. We had lunch. Parking sucks. Get ready to walk. DO NOT PARK ACROSS THE STREET IN THE LOT. They will boot your car and make you pay $100 to get it off. Anyway…this spot is perfect for a casual lunch or work lunch. They have a decent wine selection, tasty stuff. The food was good too, HUGE portions. You could easily share a salad with two people. Sandwiches and burgers are very yummy. Fries are obviously incredible. I’d recommend a reservation. Lots of cute outdoor seating with little cozy spots for intimate conversations.

Their steaks and frites special is amazing, the meat is really tender and delicious while the appetizer and dessert always reflect what is in season.

Well, this place like so many others in Austin claims to be a fantastic quality and for the most part it is however the menu is not too original. If you have to serve brussels sprouts like every single other restaurant in town I’m sorry not to creative. My complaint is that the Hamachi Crudo, which at first sounds original because there was persimmon under the hamachi, however, the peel of the persimmon is not supposed to be there.
I told the server and she never came back never offered to replace the dish. I asked her to tell the chef I have no clue if she did, but that’s not great service for an expensive restaurant.
Love the lamb rat Ragu and glad that the portion was split because it would’ve been way too much for one person and towards the end of the delicious ricotta and fresh spice herbs and lamb bits in the fusilli. I believe it was. I almost choked on cartilage that shouldn’t be in there! So I spit that out too.
The cheese plate was underwhelming and the pieces of cheese way too small. The bread though sourdough seeded was delicious.

Good food, well priced and what we tried was well balanced but they seated us in the patio’s “exile corner,” a boxed-in little nook that looks exactly like it sounds: wedged between a blank wall, a utility-style brick structure facing a whole lot of nothing. We actually had a reservation, and when we asked to move, we were told the nicer tables were “reserved”.....awkward, since those seats stayed empty our entire visit. The servers were lovely but couldn't make any recommendations, but the overall vibe had that quiet hint of “you’ll be fine out here,” which didn’t make us want to linger or sample more. We even thought about coming back with friends ...strength in numbers, right? ... but decided once was enough.

Josephine House is a favorite of mine. Love their pastries before breakfast and their avocado toast is an all time win with two over easy eggs and bacon. Yummy

Jessica is an excellent server. Speaking of excellent, so was that Hamburger. One of the best I’ve ever had, and the fries weren’t too shabby. I love homemade fries!

All time favorite place since inception! Brought special guests to dinner from out of town, and all was fabulous! Thanks for the wonderful food, service and drink AND for making more treasured memories for my family!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A hidden gem with timeless charm! We visited Josephine House for Veterans Day brunch, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. The setting feels like a page out of a storybook — a quaint little house turned chic neighborhood favorite. From the moment we walked in, we felt wrapped in warmth, style, and Austin character. My husband ordered the steak and eggs and declared it one of the best he's ever had — perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. I chose the squash and mussels soup, which was rich, comforting, and full of delicate flavor. Every bite tasted thoughtful. The server, Reese, was attentive but never rushed, and the ambiance — soft music, natural lig feel both elegant and relaxed. It's rare to find a place that nails both charm and quality, but Josephine House does it effortlessly. We left smiling, grateful, and already planning our next visit. Whether you're celebrating something special or just want a lovely Austin brunch experience, this spot is truly worth it.

Charming spot. We love to come here. Food is always amazing, & service almost always fantastic (it was not so great this time around). Please bring back the mushroom bolognese <3

Always have a great experience here. Quaint and intimate. The food was impeccable as always. I have now fallen in love with Portugal wine due them! Thank you!

A long awaited birthday brunch at Josephine House! Beautiful weather for an outdoor table. Waitress was exceptional—great combination of ease, efficiency and quirky. The lox offering was exceptional. The touted lemon ricotta pancakes were good but not exceptional. Had other good menu options I’ll try next time. Great selection of brunchy drinks too.

We have been coming to Josephine House for a couple years now. Every time my family comes in town, we go right from the airport to our reservation and we have a reservation right before heading back to the airport when they leave. This time was sooo mid tho. Vibes were way low- as if the staff (except one of the girls- her vibes were so high) had just gotten yelled at or something. Food was mid and everyone just seemed annoyed. It was a bummer actually. I prob won't book a res at the end of the morning shift again honestly. Presentation of the food was fab but the taste was mid for some reason. Anyway, we will come again but this experience was a bust.

I love Josephine House's chicken salad but this time the chicken was very funky ...it was chopped in large yucky pieces .... it was pretty unappetizing. The rest of the salad was very good.
