I was super excited to go to Justine's as I have heard so much about it and would love to have another place to recommend to people when they came in town. Sadly it did not live up to mine or anyone in my parties expectation. We had the three charcuterie plate option and escargot to start. Charcuterie plate was really lacking although the chicken liver and port pate was nice. The escargot was underwhelming and we typically love escargot. Beyond that we did enjoy our Salad Endive and Steak Frites. The steak was cooked very well and had a good taste, but overall we were just underwhelmed. We have high expectations perhaps but I have been to many a better French restaurant at a significantly lower price. Won't be telling people this is a place they must try when they come in.

They were so helpful with adjusting our party size to account for some unexpected additions to our reservation. Barbara took good care of us! Thank you :)

Wonderful experience. Everything from the food, to the ambience, to the service, was outstanding. Had my MBA grad dinner here with family and we were all raving about it. Music was a tiny bit loud for our conversations BUT the music choices were awesome.

I have been an avid diner at Justines for many years. As a born and raised austinite, I have always loved their beautiful property, their phenomenal food and the jazzy french vibe of the restaurant. One of my good friends was having a birthday and also a local, had never been here before. I have been raving about Justines for years, so she finally asked if we could have her group birthday dinner here. Five of us joined for dinner. The quality of the food remains unchecked, as everything we ate was outstanding. We just had a really poor service experience and when you pay $450 for a meal on a Tuesday, you really want it to be stellar. We were asked to wait until our entire party arrived to be sat, which is fine, but one person was running late and we asked if we could be sat and would order for that person and were told no. Once she arrived, about 5 minutes after our reservation time, we were sat, and then were ignored for about 25-30 minutes. During this time we could barely hear each other as the music was blaring at full volume. We decided to go ask the hostess if we could move outside, partly because we couldn't hear each other, but also partly because they seemed slammed inside, hence, no service for half an hour. The hostess was pretty rude about saying no. She said the outside was full but that she would take our order herself. She was rude to us about taking the order, wouldn't let us order appetizers until she had taken each individuals drink order, and overall just made us feel really uncomfortable. We did ask our server if they could turn the music down a bit and were again rudely told no. There is a way to tell your customer no, without being demeaning and unkind about it. When we left, half of the outdoor tables were still empty, so they were clearly not full. The food was great, but the service was abysmal and not sure I would go back anytime soon which is devastating considering how much I love this place.

beautiful place to celebrate fun occasions with friends/family, also great for date night. Food was wonderful, drinks were perfect. Overall 10/10 experience.

I typically love a good night out at Justines but our waitress made it very apparent that she was not interested in serving our group. She was rude and it was my birthday dinner! I may not go back for a while! Food and drinks were great but the way our waitress treated us soured the whole experience!

Justine's is just a dream, from the phenomenal service to all the delicious offerings. This team was so accommodating to all of our needs, and I truly appreciated the gracious effort to allow us a little more room last minute on our reservation. Thank you thank you for the exceptional service, I will always hold the memory of this experience in my heart.

I prefer dishes with a lot of flavor. It's possible this just isn't my type of restaurant. For example, the incredibly popular pork chop was basically a pork chop cooked properly and some light sauce on it. When a cut off a piece for my wife she wasn't even aware it came with a sauce. It came with scalloped potatoes, again , week flavor sauce. Our son is a simple guy so burger for him. It was nice to have the option but a burger this dried out and poorly seasoned would be better off not listed on the menu. Frites, again, bland and nothing eventful. I hate to knock a place like this but for the the price, you'll get more flavor and value in a lot of other places.

Love this place, really beautiful romantic atmosphere. Great place for a date night. The escargot was perfect. It felt like I was back in Paris. Our server was super sweet, overall great experience.

Loses a point on atmosphere cause the music was terrible the night we went.
Service was good but not always paying attention to needs.
The star of the show was the food! I had escargot and mussels and the oiseau de feu cocktail which was fantastic (like a spicy marg)
Absolutely worth going. And if you have the extra time and $$ go check out the photo spot in the back!

Beautiful and unique spot in East Austin, with a small bit solid menu and some very tasty food. Maybe not as mind blowing as the price would have you expect, but still very good. Steak tartar was a little strong on the horseradish, and the bolognaise was very fresh and with what seemed to be genuine home made pasta, but a surprisingly large portion that made me glad I didnt start with soup. Creme brule was flawless and a great size to share. Drinks were good without being too strong. We're planning to go back to try more of their offerings!

What an incredible experience, the food was amazing the ambiance was incredible and the service was top notch. I made a mistake with my reservation of 8 and they were able to accommodate what I thought was the proper time. Such a delightful experience. Can't wait to come back. ✌️✌️

Grossly overrated and unfortunately for customers who’ve lived in France (moi) or those who hail from larger metropolitan cities across Europe and America this place is riding on some flimsy accolades having been one of the first in town.
Going as a secret shopper if you will, I’ve been there several times over the past 10 years and each time I am as disappointed as the last. The frites are served soggy, and their mussels are joke and a half. The portion is criminally small - -about a quarter of the size of what you’ll get anywhere — and twice as expensive. When it’s crowded the arrogant owner and his minions only look and serve first the young pretty hot things at the bar while anyone else can just twiddle their thumbs.
There are far better places in town and you don’t need to waste your energy or money here.

Great ambiance, but some of the food was disappointing. Make sure to get the right dishes otherwise you will be disappointed.

Also, they don't do 2 people reservations unless you're in their wine club which was annoying to see.

Steam and frites 4/5 good steak but parts were chewy
Escargot 4/5 delicious and overly buttered
Mussels 2.5/5 I had high expectations of it, but it was meh
Crab salad 3.5/5 good taste, but where's the crab?! There was barely any!
Oysters 5/5 excellent but pricey
Hamachi crudo 5/5 delicious
