Stopped here on a whim after leaving the airport. I arrived at 5:00 and couldn't take advantage of HH but the two dishes I got were well worth the price. Great service and really cool vibe.

Kalimotxo is a true culinary gem in Austin. I was so grateful when my friend hosted a dinner here. The service was incredible from start to finish warm, attentive, and genuinely knowledgeable. Every dish delivered deep, rich, vibrant flavors with beautiful plating.

Each presentation felt like art. The cocktails were just as impressive balanced, creative, and absolutely delicious despite insisting that I would have one I failed! The way they are able to get the ice so clear in the clear as day cocktail is still unbelievable to me. If you’re an mezcal fan you have to order it. I also had a delicious glass of wine. This is a must-visit for anyone who loves a dining experience that dazzles and impresses on every level. Book your reservation today! Trust me.

Ham croquettes were delicious, pan con tomate was great too. The mushroom rice was not good, very oily and rice was overcooked and mushy.
Unique food, fun vibes, and excellent service. I've been following the manager Kathryn around Austin. Wherever she goes the place gets better so when I found out she was helping open Kalimotxo I got excited. I find myself there often. An elevated oasis on the East Side :)

Host showed us and gave us a menu where the price was $12 for the Tuna Crudo on happy hour. We then waited 10 minutes (long time as place was empty) for a waiter. Went to leave and I questioned the $21 price he charged me for the tuna Crudo. He showed me the new menu as they had just switched it out and refused to charged me what I saw. It was the guy with tattoos up his neck and long black hair. I don’t care about that just saying this person was highly unfair and arrogant. I was shocked they would charge me the wrong amount. I feel it was poorly handled and the sever could have been more accommodating. Here is the menu I was given. We stayed at the hotel and would have went to dinner here if not for this.

I was hoping for a more authentic experience. It was a little "nightclub" vibes for the 20's-30's crowd on the east side and that's fine! Nothing wrong with that, but it's more slick and hip than Spanish authentic. Our waitress was precious, but new to the job and could use some training. Nothing against her. She'll get there, but management might want to spend more time with their new staff, teaching them the various plates, flavor profiles, etc. The managers were great, as well. The tuna crudo was the best thing we had! So good! The Gilda in the single bites section was WAY too pickled. You couldn't even taste the anchovy; everything was too pungent. But the wine was lovely, the vibes were good, the people were very nice. I think it will be a better restaurant as they gain more experience, but for now, it's 3-4 star out of 5 for me.
Original and creative cocktails and food. Each item ordered was perfect and our host was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about menu items as well as food in general. Great experience🥰❣️
Incredible Happy Hour! Brandon, our server, was so personable and kind. The host team was also extraordinary when helping us out. Will be back soon!

First time in with a lovely experience. Great patio vibes and my favorite thing had to be the cocktails. Great food and good for a night bite. Grigor, our waiter, was so accommodating and guided us to some great plates, and a delightful dessert surprise. You’ll have to go in and ask him about it. 😉Keep this place open, Austin!!

Food and service were great. The Basque cheesecake was exceptional! The biggest downside was the music which started out fine but got louder as the evening progressed. My dining companion and I had to lean across the table and practically shout to be heard. Is a DJ at a restaurant required? No. It's cool but please let us be able to have a conversation during dinner!
Kalimotxo is an absolute gem. From the moment we arrived, we felt transported straight to Spain. The menu of Spanish tapas was exceptional—each dish beautifully balanced, fresh, and full of flavor. The wine selection was just as impressive, featuring a wide array of Spanish varietals alongside thoughtfully chosen wines from around the world.
We even sampled some brandy paired with our dishes, which turned out to be a delightful surprise. The highlight of our evening, though, was talking with Alex, the manager. He’s an encyclopedia of wine knowledge—sharing not only expert insights into the winemaking process but also fascinating stories about Spanish culture and traditions. His passion truly elevated the entire experience.
We sat outside as the sun set, which made for a romantic, memorable evening. The ambiance was perfect for a date night—warm, inviting, and sophisticated. The interior of the restaurant looked beautiful as well, blending modern style with classic charm.
All in all, Kalimotxo delivered an unforgettable experience—phenomenal food, world-class wines, and impeccable hospitality. It’s easily one of Austin’s most enchanting dining spots.
