Kerbey Lane Cafe - University

I eat in the restaurant on Guadalupe., and have ordered delivery many times. This evening, i had food delivered through DoorDash. The food arrived quickly, but the burger was disgusting. It's been sitting under a heat lamp for hours; the meat is as dry as leather, and the cheese is actually hard. I'm tired of restaurants offloading food they wouldn't be able to serve in the restaurant; food that would invariably be sent back. They use these inedible leftovers for delivery orders; it's a deliberate tactic to save on food costs, and it's unethical. I will never eat in the restaurant, nor oder delivery ever again.

Got the breakfast tacos with potatoes, veggie chorizo, and tofu scramble and it was great! Wish they put some of that cashew queso on it, though…

Had a Denver omelette, it was okay. I think IHOP is actually better.

Amazing queso and pancakes!! Definitely get the pancakes with the cinnamon crunch swirl! Expect a wait if you’re planning to visit. The service was excellent and loved the ambiance of the restaurant.

In the mood for a good breakfast. I got the pancake flight with the blueberry, pumpkin spice, and strawberry lemonade (monthly special). Pancakes were amazingly tasty ?. I had the pumpkin latte which was delicious ?. Great staff and expedient service. Their menu was filled with delicious entrees would visit again!! I almost didn’t get photos because it was so tasty ?

Management is so friendly. Every employee is grief. It is definitely an amazing inexperience. Definitely. Try out their chips and queso. It is really good. I ended up getting the breakfast pancakes plate. It was good, my wife got the burger, she loved it

I really liked this place! They had a vegan option which was amazing! I ordered the vegan breakfast platter and the veggie chili and cornbread. 10/10! Alcoholic drinks were not very good in my opinion but still had nice aesthetics. I’d definitely come back again!

Unfortunately Kerbey Lame has lost sight of its roots and charms. Rather than ensure quality fresh food at an Austin staple, they have chosen to forgo their homely atmosphere and seasonal summer offerings for a soulless, corporate modern aesthetic completely lacking signature dishes like the Summer Chicken. While the food will fill you up, the quality across numerous visits is inconsistent, with meals such as the Country Fried Steak varying between a tender, tantalizing taste and a rubbery, difficult to cut and chew mess.

The saving grace of the establishment is the service, as the workers are always friendly faces in the bleak, white walls of the distorted diner.

My family and I absolutely love this Kerbey Lane location! We’ve tried the other locations and enjoyed them as well, but this one is our favorite go-to spot. The food is consistently delicious, which we really appreciate since I’m not the most adventurous eater and neither are our kids, though my wife loves trying new things. No matter what we order, we know it’s going to be great, and we’re never disappointed. The service is always amazing, and we’re very happy with the quality of the food, the value for our money, and the excellent service. Highly recommend!
