Classic TX buttermilk dressing with roasted beet puree, fresh dill, jalapenos and celery.
Egyptian Garden Salad
It is the classic, refreshing Egyptian salad. Baladi means local. It is a salty, vinegary bright salad that pairs well with breakfast, lunch and dinner. Its beauty is in its simplicity. Cucumber, tomato, red onion, mint, parsley and pomegranate seeds, tossed in vinegar salt and cumin.

A party in your mouth. Our Mediterranean rice is seasoned with cinnamon, and turmeric topped with sweet and crunchy cinnamon nuts and pomegranate seeds.

Pistachio Rice Pudding
For the most soothing dessert after BBQ, try our pistachio butter rice pudding topped with mascarpone whip and cardamom and halwa (sesame clustered). Note: Because the pistachio is deeply infused into this dessert it cannot alter for nut allergy.

The food was fresh and hot. Only had to wait a few minutes before the main meal was ready. Had to wait a bit longer for the rice pudding to be finished.
The smoke on the ribs was fantastic! The lamb pita was full and delicious. Lamb is not an overwhelming flavor as can be with some. Lamb is my husband's favorite. We really want to come back for the shoulder and belly dishes.

K G (Kareem El-Ghayesh) Egyptian BBQ has been on my bucket list far too long and it was time to check it out. I lived in the Middle East for 5 years in the early 80's and fell in love with the cuisine. Cairo was my playground.

I stopped at KG BBQ in Austin, Texas yesterday for lunch. I have had this place on my list to try for many months, yesterday was the day that I was able to visit and enjoy it.
