My boyfriend got food poisoning from the vermicelli) we think it was the eggrolls specifically). I got the lemongrass eggplant chicken and it was terrible. Chicken was soggy?! Had no flavor, was really bad. Also got the cheese rangoons which was the only thing I liked.Service was pretty rude. I walked in and looked at the menu, immediately they were pressuring me to order, which they did multiple times before I was ready. Ended up ordering something terrible.

I like their Wednesday night Pho for $9. I have been going to Kim Phung for over 20 years. They have changed a few things but overall it is still the best!

It's a really rundown place and its Pho tastes more like chicken broth from a can.

It really feels like they have been cost cutting on the ingredients. Their idea of mixed vegetables now consists of 4 pieces of broccoli and 5 or 6 slices of carrot and a mountain of sliced celery and onion. It was very disappointing once I realized what I had paid for a bunch of cheap fillers.

Don’t order from their Uber Eats vegan pop up called ‘Phuket I’m vegan’. All the food is pictured incorrectly and tastes terrible/unseasoned.

Steak pho was fire. Crab rangoons seemed like they had been sitting out for at least a few hours as they were barely warm and came out within like 2 min of ordering so definitely not fresh BUT they did taste good so there's that. Thai tea was good. very happy I live down the block from this place.

RIP Kim Phung. Sadly you're as dead to us as the Cedar Park location. The food has gone so far downhill we will never be back & counter staff is not friendly or helpful. The pork egg rolls are not the original ones and I asked before I ordered!! I waited over 35 min. for take-out when there was no one else in the restaurant. FYI - customers that ordered delivery or take out - there were dozens+ of your orders sitting on the tables before I got there and after I left. I can only imagine how your food was...

Wow this place was once the best vermicelli in Austin. Not anymore. Gross. I won't be back. It looks like the recipes of all changed.

Wow. Their food is usually good and fresh but not today. All three dishes look and taste like they have been in the refrigerator to reheat. Pork was fatty. Veggies soggy. Wrong order as I wanted basil eggplant and got some chicken and vegetable dish that had been marinating at least 24 hours. I will not go back if this is what they have become.

Ordered the food overthe phone. I told that it would be ready in 10 min. Showed up to pick itup15 min later and it was not ready. Waited an additional 15 min and finally it was ready. When I checked my order was wrong they had used rice instead of vermicelli. Instead of remaking the dish they just took the meat and plopped it onto a bed of vermicelli. Got it all the way home and found that they had given straight fish sauce, not the sweet mixed sauce that the vermicelli bowl comes with. So in all I got three meals. One tasted like ginger and lemon but was so over powered by ginger that it was not safe to eat. The 2nd had a teriyaki type sauce and the grilled meat was not seasoned. Should have had the sweet fish sauce mixture. The third also had unseasonably grilled chicken but had a Salty fishy sauce. When I called they said they would refund my order I drove all the way back to the store and brought the food with me. The owner refused to refund or replace the order. Plus I brought the uneaten food back and she put her fingers all in like anyone could eat it at that point........ Don't eat here the only reason they have 1 star is because they can't get a -not remaking a wrong order and just slapping on a bed of vermicelli is just short of dropping food on the floor and serving it anyway. I will be reporting the restraint to the food administration.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Kim Phung for their pho special, and it was a delightful experience! I ordered the steak pho ($9) and shrimp pho ($18), which were both tasty. The fried dumplings ($8) were absolutely adorable and delicious too! The prompt service was a plus. Although the location and interior were not quite my style, I might opt for a to-go order next time. However, I must admit, the steak pho deal on Wednesdays from 6 pm to 9 pm is so tempting that it might just bring me back for another visit!

Ok, so here's the deal. I'm not sure of what the bad reviews are about (maybe their timing right after covid?) ....anyway, for us it was a 1st time awesome experience. No, it's not in a cute part of town, it's not a looker of a location, and it's not a place spot to celebrate a fancy anniversary or bday. However, if what you are into is real Vietnamese food, THIS IS THE SPOT in central Austin. The Pho is a must. We also got the Banh Mi and have to also say that outside of Vietnam, is one of the top 3 we've had in the USA.Seems like they stay busy as a take out/delivery place. We chose to dine in since it was completely empty and had our pick of booth (again, nothing fancy, posh or pretentious, just good authentic food).

As I was casually looking at the menu on the wall outside, I see this lady make a beeline for the door. There was no hesitation in her demeanor, this lady knew what she wanted! I stopped her right before she opened the door, I said excuse me is this place any good? She stopped and said "Oh yes it's like the best in this entire area! It's been around like forever, I've been coming here for years". So as we both walk up to the counter to make an order, she already had one waiting for her. She begins to chit chat with the man behind the counter like they knew each other by name, probably cause they did! Proof that she definitely has been coming here for years. At this point I'm like okay, this is definitely going to live up to her hype.So I ordered the Rice Clay Pot House special, cause that sounds different from my usual. There's also no way im leaving without trying the fried dumplings.Everything was amazing! I almost thought there was no rice (was at the bottom), that's how much meat and vegetables they put in my dish! I'm usually more of a fan of steamed dumplings but man these fried dumplings hit the spot as well. I walked out of that restaurant feeling like Buddha. hahaThe guys working the counter were very nice. There was no one really in the restaurant. It was kind of a ghost town which is surprising cause they had like 30 tables, I guess they have their rushes at certain times. Maybe when it's more busy they have waiters or something but it's kind of like self-serve. This place is worth checking out!

their food is amazing. i love the fried rice and chicken pho. however, there were some rare occasions with a worker who never brought our food and kept trying to talk to my friends and i instead of taking our order. we kept trying to say what we wanted and he'd go "oh yeah you wanted food" and that happened a few times before he finally took our order. we ended up waiting for over an hour and our food was never ready, he just kept talking to us and asking if i lived in the area and things like that. aside from that, all the staff has been incredibly nice and their food really is delicious.

BEWARE!!! I am giving Kim Phung 1 star because they are being dishonest and are impersonating Super Thai Cuisine on both Door Dash and Grubhub. Yesterday, I ordered what I thought was Super Thai Cuisine on Door Dash and paid over $40. My delivery driver then delivered an order from Kim Phung. I tried reporting this to Door Dash but they said a merchant is allowed to name themselves whatever they'd like to on their platform. I think it's dishonest and wrong of Kim Phung to impersonate another establishment (one that nearly has 5 stars) for financial gain. Yelpers, please know that if you try to order Super Thai Cuisine online and you see "7601 N Lamar Blvd" you are getting Kim Phung and not Super Thai!! Go in person and stay off Door Dash and Grubhub! If you look at Kim Phung's other reviews, it looks like in the past they have also impersonated other Austin restaurants. So wrong!!
