The cheese enchiladas are the perfect kind of cheesy. Perfectly melted and mild and almost melts in your mouth. Add a bit of salsa on for that perfect kick. The potato enchiladas are also very good with the chipotle sauce although I wish it had just a little more sauce.
The restaurant is very charming like eating at your abuela's casa. No frills just smiles. They don't serve alcohol here so be ready to drink Mexican coke!
Update: they are BYOB so the coke is going to be replaced by a six pack!

This place is such a hidden gem! The food was amazing and very fresh. Their salsa and tortillas are made in house and the quality shows. I had a lovely spontaneous lunch here and the atmosphere was so calm and cozy. I would definitely recommend supporting this small business they do great work! Our waitress was very sweet and attentive too.
Parking: Small lot in the back but is appropriate for the size of the restaurant

La Cocina de Consuelo is an absolute gem in Austin, and I can't recommend it enough! From the moment I walked in, I felt a warm, welcoming vibe that made the experience even more special. As a student at UT Austin, this cozy little spot makes me feel like I’m back home, especially with food that tastes like my grandma's cooking.
The food is simply phenomenal. Every bite is packed with flavor, and you can tell it’s made with love. I had the enchiladas, and they were hands-down some of the best I've ever had. The ingredients were fresh, and the portions were perfect.
The service was friendly and attentive, making sure that I had everything I needed without feeling rushed. It’s a small, intimate place, which just adds to the charm. If you’re looking for a place that feels like home with food that’s comforting and delicious, La Cocina de Consuelo is where you need to go. I had a fantastic experience and will definitely be coming back often!

One of the best breakfast burritos I’ve had in a long time. Starting with the perfect flour tortilla soft and well cared for lightly cooked on the stove top with just a pinch of that flour residual that stays on your fingers to keep them clean. The food was hot and fresh and everything was perfect and fast. They also do a lot of to go business. Plenty of seating, Google images didn’t do it justice. I will return and I’m extremely picky with food. Don’t be afraid to make your own burrito and definitely try the flan ? soooooo good. Coffee was also set up well and tasted fresh.

The servers were friendly and attentive, atmosphere was good. The place is small and obviously popular as it was a full house. For me the food was just ok. It wasn't bad or anything, just not spectacular. I think it may be that I like spicy salsas and food with a lot of punch, and this was more mild. Unfortunately they did not have a spicy salsa to add that.

Best breakfast option in Austin — this place rocks!! I’ve had the barbacoa plate and a few of the tacos, and I’ve never been anything less than satisfied. The meat is flavorful; the tortillas are delicious; and the restaurant is so cute and homey.
