Great bar. They welcomed in the El Blanco aka Lobo Loco and I had a pleasant time. Drink the Ar-Modelo and be happy that a real bar still exists in Austin. No real doofuses to speak of in here, just real locals as I imagine Austin used to be full of.

Really nice atmosphere; clientele are a FUN mix of genuine Austinites, college kids, young urban professionals (YUPPIES), TOURISTS and a curious mix of artists, etc., etc. Beers are Iced-cold; and the price is SUPER RIGHT, amidst a sea of "trendy and way OVERPRICED BOUTIQUE BARS Perla Bar is well worth, actually more than well worth, a visit. Caution: DON'T SHOOT POOL AGAINST THE OWNER; he's Damned good and knows his way around the small, bar sized, pool table (after all, he owns it).

Came here. Started to have a good time. Bartender at closing time locked my brother and good friend in because he had differences with someone. Very scary situation. I attempted to ask them to let my friend and brother go. I called the police and the owner and bartender later confronted me and stated that police never come here anyway. Very scary situation. Please be aware when you come to this place.
