Owner was by himself so service was a bit slow. But food is consistently good.

Hands down the best spot for authentic Mexican sweet bread! If you swing by early in the morning, you’ll catch them fresh out of the oven warm, soft, and absolutely delicious.

While the pastries are ok the hours of operation are a hit and miss. Several times we have stopped by around noon and they are closed up. Posting the hours on the door but unless they are just closed for good it may or may not be open.

Best place in south austin since 2018
The bread is good, the display cases only have about two pieces, there is no variety to choose from, at least when I went.
Definitely worth the drive

I didn't want to leave this comment, but I can't let it pass by.
It was a couple of weeks ago at lunch time (12 pm) and the food took a long time.
Half an hour for my plate of food to come out.
There was only one girl, she serves, charges and cooks.
I think the owner should have at least 2 people, one in the kitchen and another in front serving.
I ordered a plate of gorditas, I didn't like the ground meat, the meat was dry and flavorless. There was no salt or tomato in the ground beef.
And on top of that I could see that the place lacks cleanliness. I found this surprise in one of the lamps.

The food was significantly sub par and bland. I had the Gordita plate and the beans were from out of a can, the rice was the instant rice, the Gordita itself was bland and the meat unseasoned. The only good thing I got from here was a guava pastry, the other pastries and the food itself was terrible. I will never be returning- waste of money.
I WAS FOOD POISONED HERE. It’s the evening and the only thing I ate was the HORRID plate of gorditas and I feel like I’m dying.
