We were just happy to find a place that was open and serving fresh made hot food, so weren't expecting a lot, but wow, the food was amazing. We had a Margherita pizza and it blew our minds. It was so delicious, fresh, and straight from the wood fired oven. The flavors were incredible, the crust was crispy, the pesto was gorgeous. I'd go back here any day, my only regret is I live hundreds of miles away.

Used to really like this place. The quality of the food and preparation has declined so significantly it was unrecognizable. Will not be returning. You can do better at any local fast food location. They were doing maintenance in dining area while serving food to patrons. Please save replacing dirty rugs to non peak dining times. Salad was wilted. Burger was cold and flavorless. French fries rubbery and drinks never refilled.

Service continues to spiral downward place due to ownership. One day the Credit card machine doesn’t work so limited menu offered without pizza, another day the AC doesn’t work so limited menu without pizza , now the ticketing machine doesn’t work so 30 minutes to get an appetizer - when no one else is eating in the restaurant. The food is average to begin with, but it was convenient to go there for us, but it’s not even worth it anymore.

This is really a bummer. Lakeside was a neighborhood staple, we have been coming here weekly. It recently changed ownership and has gone completely downhill. We’ve given it 3 tries, but we’re done. It used to be packed every night, now there no more than 3 tables of people so I guess others have figured it out before us.Service is terrible. The waitstaff is rude and slow. The old waitstaff was so nice and helpful. I feel like I’m bothering the new people when I order. Not a single one of them ever smile. The bartender is severely underdressed for a family restaurant where I bring my kids and parents for a family night in the middle of a neighborhood. The menu is smaller and they have been out of something we’ve tried to order each visit. I could deal with the menu changes if the staff weren’t the worst.I’m really not sure why the new owner didn’t take the keys and let a good thing roll, but they changed everything. Goodbye to the wonderful restaurant that Lakeside used to be, your charm, service and food will be missed! This is either a front for a one other business or will be gone soon.

RIP, old Lakeside. We used to eat here 2-3 times per week, if not more; it was like the “Cheers” of Steiner. New owner has absolutely ruined the great place it once was. Service (what service?) is so bad. Food quality isn’t a thing. Crawling with roaches and unhappy staff. So sad. Owner doesn’t even say hello to the patrons of the small neighborhood restaurant. We’ve given it at least 5 tries and we’re done.

I went to buy a burger the meat is bad and it smelled very bad, and I called and they told me he couldn't do anything because the manager was not there and they didn't take my information to do something about it

Quite possibly the worst chicken wings I’ve ever had. Way over-fried when they were fried— when— two weeks ago? Attention to detail has really fallen-off since new owners arrived. Huge shift in focus- from great restaurant (the past) to a mere bar (the present). One person told me that the new owner is simply trying to get liquor sales up so he can flip the place to an even newer buyer.

Stopped in for a quick bite after a hike. The restaurant was clean and had a good atmosphere and the staff was friendly. I had a pizza and cheese bread and it was okay. Nothing particularly special about either.

Place has new owners/management. Food took a long time to come out but it tasted good. Hopefully they can get their timing down and add more stuff back to the menu. The menu is much smaller than it used to be. We will try again and hopefully they work out some of their issues.

Trying to order 3 pizzas was like pulling teeth!!! I was on the phone awhile with someone who obviously was new. Which I some tolerance for but the fact she couldn’t hear me because of the music on her end. Also there was no one around for her to ask questions to. My whole order was wrong.. $90 for 3 pizzas. Yikes!!! Pizza wasn’t even warm when we received it. And was longer than they said it would be!!

If I could give this place less than zero, I would! I arrive, there’s 2 people eating so I sit down and wait and wait and wait…15 minutes before some unnamed waitperson arrives. I see practically nothing I want so I go safe and order chicken wings. 2 of my coworkers come in, they’re greeted IMMEDIATELY and order burgers, which come out maybe 10 minutes later, meanwhile I’m still waiting?! I’m there 50 minutes before my order comes, the waitperson walks off, I have to ask for napkins for my buffalo wings because they didn’t care for me being there apparently. First thing I notice is how crispy said wings are, I take a bite and it crunches! Never had wings crunch from Buffalo Wild Wings or Wing Stop, or any other place that serves wings. The flavor was odd, it tasted one half step from burnt, even the bone was black as though it was severely overcooked! They may as well have said, “We don’t like your kind” because that’s EXACTLY how the attitude and service was! I picked apart 2 more wings, all were overcooked and close to burnt. I may as well have been robbed for the money I spent there, everything in me said to get up and walk out; I should have listened. I work in the area, so I decided to try it out—most racist, unfriendly spot in Steiner Ranch!
