Being relatively knew to Austin, I cannot recommend Lavaca downtown enough. The bar staff are nothing but friendly and welcoming. Its a great atmosphere and the bar staff are top notch. If you are ever in the area, Lavaca is not one to be missed. Do yourself a favor and get here quickly!

I love this place! My boyfriend and his friends wanted to watch a game there and I was just along for the ride with no expectations but I was pleasantly surprised! I don’t typically love bar food because it hurts my stomach but the food here was really good!! They even had steak. (Get the blackened ribeye). I’d say restaurant quality taste just plated to look like bar food for the vibes in my opinion haha. The servers were super friendly and helpful too. They had a good selection...

If you're looking for incredible service, incredible drinks, and an overall great experience for watching sports, look no further. Find the bartender and manager Ruben. The guy could not be nicer and more welcoming. Take this from an out of towner. I love nothing more than dive bars and the great people that frequent them and Ruben makes you feel like you're instantly part of the family.-Austin
