I love this restaurant. Favorite in Austin. Great ambience. Food is second to none. Service is second to none. Easy to lose track of time!! Is it pricey? Depends on who you are but it is worth it!!!

The blue corn lobster hush puppies were the bomb so was the Rattlesnake Sausage. Scallops were excellent and elk loin is a must. The burnt carrots are a must as a side and you absolutely must finish off the meal with the ancho chili chocolate cake!

Lonesome Dove was excellent. The waitstaff were attentive and helpful. The setting and ambience were perfect. The wild game aspect was fun and delicious. If you’re up for an adventure, I’d recommend.

The restaurant was a nice location. Service was very high, very enjoyable, waitress was knowledgeable, but the food, especially the price you paid was very poor lamb chops only 20% meat the rest of that was all fat, very noisy level environment. I can barely hear my family across the table. The fish had many toppings, but the fish itself was not very flavorful at all. I could've made it better, the elk was very bland and all they gave you is four little medallions very flat not worth $63. Will only return for the drinks and the chocolate cake dessert which was the only thing we enjoyed .

We were initially disappointed when we were sat in the booth directly behind the hostess area, but quickly settled in and loved the two seater booth. It felt surprisingly private and was very comfortable. Our waiter, Mark, knew his stuff and made great suggestions. We were celebrating and went a bit crazy. We had the tostadas, which were delicious. From there, we had the special salad, and it was tasty as well. Then came the lamb chop entree, which, believe it or not, we ordered as an additional appetizer. The lamb chops are exceptional. Tender, full of flavor and glazed with a delicious sauce. We thoroughly enjoyed them, and I will crave them. My husband had the Montana bison, and was extremely pleased with it. We usually prefer medium rare, but Mark, our server, suggested medium. My husband trusted him, with no regrets. I had the elk loin, and was delighted. The hen of the woods mushroom- where else can you get those? Oh my goodness, it was all so good, down to the blueberries on the plate. The cocktails are pure and true. They are not dumbed down with sugar, and were well poured. We both started with the Willie. So good. We ended with the bread pudding. Very good. It was a fantastic experience, we were not rushed, and enjoyed our time at Lonesome Dove. We will be back.

This place was incredible!! The food was absolutely delicious, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I cannot wait to go back to this amazing establishment. The manager was walking around checking on tables, the servers were always smiling and the bartender was awesome.

This is the place in Austin for awesome wild game. The level of culinary perfection is second none. We have been coming here for years and it is always amazing. The service is world class and personal to boot.

One of the best meals I've had in Austin so far. Elk Loin was amazing, as was the Rabbit Ravioli. Drinks were all great, mashed potatoes and salad were also good. Bone marrow and churros were the only thing that came out and didn't impress--the bread was good however. Will absolutely come back again.
