I really wish I had checked the reviews before ordering from here. I'm visiting Austin and staying in the domain, so I wanted to get something quick without leaving the Domain. First, the food is pretty expensive even for the Domain. If it was good, it may have been worth it, but it was not. I ordered Spicy Szechuan Chili Noodle, pork egg rolls, and cheeseburger dumplings. I understand that I shouldn't expect much from the cheeseburger dumplings, and I ordered it as more of a curiosity. They tasted like a strange tangy sauce with nothing else, I could barely see any meat at all. The egg rolls are ok, but about a third the size and cost the same. The worst thing was definitely the Spicy Szechuan Chili Noodles. On top of the noodles being extremely overcooked, it wasn't spicy at all, I mean at all. Not only was it not spicy, but it was barely seasoned at all. It was like eating noodles with butter and a very small amount of beef, which you have to pay $5 extra for. If I were you, I would go anywhere else.

Tried out lotus for lunch today. The inside was empty, which was nice for a quick lunch. However the environment was sticky. The bathrooms smelled of urine and were also sticky. We tried the soup dumpling rainbow variety order and they were ok- the dumping dough was squishy and sticky and the inside flavor was just ok. The soy ginger noodles were a great texture but overall the flavors were ok, not developed or variable. The soup dumpling spoon was so small you couldn't eat properly and they were served in tin trays. Didn't come with any sauces or chili oils to elevate the flavor. Wouldn't recommend or go back. Much better places to eat in the domain.

Food was overall good, but the orange chicken was dry, and dumplings were smaller than expected. Restaurant had an odd smell, but great customer service. Cheeseburger dumplings are recommended! #

I’ve been here plenty of times and haven’t had a bad experience yet! Food is normally very good for me, I like the dumplings and the sweet and sour sesame chicken. The self serving is wonderful for people who are antisocial. Food comes out really quick.

I don’t recommend eating soup dumplings here. I got rainbow ones, cause I could decide which flavor I wanted, I don’t know if it’s my luck or that’s how they are here, but all the dumplings had too thin of the dough, so all of that soup was on the outside, before I even started eating, as for the filling, it didn’t taste good, texture was all weird and I think it just wasn’t cooked all the way through. Unfortunately I felt sick the very next day and the only thing outside my normal food were soup and fried dumplings from this restaurant.

I’m glad I didn’t pass this place up due to the current rating! What’s going on? Are other local places paying for negative reviews?If you’re looking for fine dining Chinese, this isn’t your place. But, if you’re looking for some really good takeout or even casually dining in, I thought this place was really good.I had the orange chicken…large pieces, all white meat, nice crispy outside, perfectly cooked, fresh. Fried rice was good, service was great. Place was clean….Don’t pass this place up!
If you like Dumplings, fried rice & Chinese food alike, you would LOVE this place. The food is very affordable & delicious. I recommend the egg and scallion fried rice w/ pork and cabbage dumplings. I got chilli oil on the side with my rice which was exceptional and the perfect amount of spicey. My only gripe with the restaurant is that the chairs are a little Rickety, where they lean a little bit in every direction, but at the end of the day I love the restaurant and they have great service, good food, good prices & they're right near a bunch of other stores in the domain to get a smoothie or coffee after you gorge yourself on dumplings

I just left. We sat on the patio. It's a clear night. Food came out fast. And had no issues. Went in for a straw for my son, and headed back outside.I noticed a drop of liquid from above. Then I noticed a fair amount of drops. On the floor, table, and probably my food.I went back inside to ask about the water. The young "server" just said "it's from the rain".It's clear.... everything is dry. It's dripping off of a metal pole.... it's not rain. And it was not happening 3 minutes ago.The server had no care in the world about me or my food.And there's "no manager"The only way I'm going back is if I get food borne illness....to raise hell

I ordered gf shrimp that my husband got Togo...the shrimp came breaded. I have a gluten allergy and was very nervous so we looked up the phone number to call to confirm the meal was gluten free. There is NO PHONE NUMBER. So my very kind husband drives back over where they rudly tell him the shrimp is breaded in corn starch (fingers crossed I don't get sick) and refuse to help in anyway. His food had zero sauce and mine wasn't great either. I'd give this zero stars if I could. I'm fairly certain for the price trash panda would've been better.
