The bar tender Alberto is an artist!! His drinks were on point & the Cumbia music was awesome!! My friend & I were walking on the street and we heard Selena singing & we knew we had to go in. The pickle backs were perfection. We’ll be back!!

I feel like Austin must have one of the highest bar-per-resident ratios of any city. There are plenty of great places to grab a drink, but for me, it’s the team behind the bar that makes the difference. Every time I pop into Low Down Lounge, I can honestly say it’s to hang out with Nathan behind the bar. He makes the place feel like community and is always down to pour out a little liquor for his neighborhood. So stop by, say hi, and let ’em know Andrew sent ya'.

Low down is dope. Went in there Friday night after bar hopping with friends. I jokingly asked to bum a cig and the dude bussing tables I swear to god (peerce?) idk. Weird name. HE FOUND ONE FOR ME!
Dude could have just shrugged it off but it really made my friends night. I’ve been showing up regularly ever since. East austin is dope

The Low Down is a pretty cool place to have on your weekly rotation. I've been coming here for a while because their happy hour deals are pretty great ($2 beer and cheap shots brings me back), but they have some surprisingly good cocktails for a dive bar. The bar manager Alberto told me that he pretty much puts out new cocktails every month because he likes shaking things up and trying out new things. The atmosphere here is relaxed and welcoming, and it's a great place to chill with friends, play some pool, and watch throwback movies on the TV.
