Overall, I had a poor experience. This is the 3rd time I’m facing the issue. The issue is with the front desk person and I’m seeing her for the past 10months. Same reason provided. The thing is she commits a time and doesn’t deliver the to-go food on time. Every time I will leave it thinking it’s human error. I had to wait for 55mins to get 3 items where I was been committed that I will get it in 15mins. Madurai Mes have to learn to provide proper commitment and deliver towards it and not false commitments. So disappointing. I would be happy to talk to the owner or the manager regarding this.

Very disappointed with the service. Looked like they were under staffed. there were hardly anyone and we had to wait for 15 min for a table. After we ordered, the lady comes after another 15 min to tell they don’t have what we ordered.

Unfortunately had to change my review based on today’s visit. The mysore masala was bland all the chatnis were bad and sambar was just water with no flavor.
Previous visit…. Mysore masala and Madurai masala was real good, railway tea brought memories from childhood railway journey’s. Next time will give the thali a try.

We went to lunch. Ordered thalappakatti biriyani and prawn but both are unsatisfied. Finally plan to end up with sweet glub jamon but horrible bad taste. And compliant to management no action paid bill.....and I determined that's my last visit to the hotel....I never go and recommend to anyone...

Been here a few times mostly for lunch and the food is good. Their fish curry is one of the authentic south Indian curries you get in Austin.
Thali is usually decent and fairly consistent in terms of taste. fish curry, parotta and buttermilk stand out.
Their filter coffe is hand down the best in Austin and must try.

I had the opportunity to try Madurai mes express restaurant in Austin. Surprisingly, everything I had was all fresh and authentic South Indian with Madurai touch. After having proper full non veg meal with mouth melting fish masala and pallipalayam chicken, I was wondering whether I am in India or USA. We loved all the food from Mutton soup to unique cool jigarthanda. Wow ! What a food !. Last but not least, hospitality of Mr.Ibrahim was unforgettable with his request, we tried yummy seeraga samba rice mutton biryani.Surely will come back to this place to have finger licking food, when I come to Austin.

Excellent food and service. We had vegetarian variety tiffin (idli, dosa, pongal, vada and sweet), chole bhature, dosa and mango lassi. All three varieties of chutney and Sambhar were flavorful. Lassi did not have any artificial color, sweeteners etc added (which was a bonus for us).
Prices are nominal for the quality of food served. Definitely coming back.

I had Ambur Chicken Biryani and Bhai Kadai mutton biriyani on two separate occasions. Both were amazing and the quantity is also good. After a longtime i had the most authentic tamil style biriyani here.

Tomato, Coconut and coriander chutneys were on point. Crispy and flaky Rawa dosa that came with green chilli, cashews and onions. Kari dosa set was made with food amount of filling and the goat paya was soft, curry was light and flavorful. Thank you to the chef Senthil Kumar, your hand is good ?

We ordered Guntur kara dosa, veechu parotta and idiyappam with veg salna. Dosa was top notch ( better without add ons), crisp, chutneys were rich and tasted good. Parotta was freshly made and crispy.
