Manuel's was a great dining experience for our large group of 9 meeting in an outdoor patio with great decor. The meals were authentic and tasteful, artistically presented in a relaxed patio environment that combined for an unforgettable experience! I highly recommend this establishment based on this fine location!
Introduced to Manuel's-downtown was the only location 35/36 years ago-my boyfriend at the time insisted I try the Chile Relleno de Eloté. I was a rather strapping young man then and I was hesitant as it seemed a bit light. It was August-yes it matters. The dish is a grilled chilé Relleno stuffed with an aromatic - think Basmati- rice with sautéed sweet corn, colorful bell and I'm thinking other mild peppers and queso blanco. Great service. Had the beef fajita nachos. Tenderness was a 2 on a 1-10 scale, absolutely no seasoning (not even salt!) and the steak tasted as though it had been soaked in beer (??). Pricey because of the location but I can get a far more superior meal just East of 35 at a local dive.
