Very cool place with great service and good food, the view is pretty cool

We rented a cabana and pool pass, but Mother Nature had other plans and rained on our parade! We went upstairs to Marker 10 to get some food and enjoy the view. The pozole was tasty and filling, while the crudo had a nice kick to it. The peach cobbler comes in a cast iron plate with vanilla ice cream! We also appreciated the hospitality; the manager noticed that we were there for the pool pass only and comped our meal due to the weather. That was great service!

April 2025: the whole hotel is under renovation, so what they've done is put Marker 10 in a ballroom on the seventeenth floor. Great view of the city, but not the riverside experience we expected. Supposedly the renovation is completed in Sept 2025. Also... No sushi.

Great Ambience, but Lacking in Food and Service

I recently visited this restaurant and bar, and while the ambience was fantastic, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. The décor and atmosphere are truly impressive—warm lighting, tasteful interiors, nive views and a great vibe for an evening out. It’s definitely a place where you’d want to sit back, relax, and enjoy the setting.

Unfortunately, the food and service didn’t quite live up to the environment. The dishes we ordered were just average, lacking the flavors or freshness you’d expect from a place with such a lovely setting. Additionally, the service was slow and somewhat inattentive, which dampened the experience further.

If you’re looking for a place with great ambience to grab a drink, this spot might work for you. But if food and service are important, you may want to look elsewhere.

The food was delicious, and the service was also good. We chose this place because of the downtown view but unfortunately the outside smelled so strongly of bat guano that we had to sit inside. We were hoping to still get a view, but the windows were pretty dirty and you couldn't see much with the trees. Recommend for the food but not the view.

The food is incredible. The drinks are amazing, but overpriced. The service is horrible. The only bartender worth his salt is Jack. The first night we were in town for a convention, the bar was slammed and he was friendly, quick and attentive. The second night, we came in, sat in the dining room for 35 minutes without even being acknowledged. My husband went up to Jack at the bar, ordered and we were served immediately. The third day we came in for drinks and the bartender was apathetic at best. There were probably 15 people at the bar and yet he seemed overwhelmed and had no help. Great food and drinks but hire more staff and make sure they care about customer service.

Our server Vannessa was absolutely the best server I had in my entire week of dinning in Austin. She even made the food better giving us great recommendations (w/o the usual eye rolls). I hope they're paying her like a slot machine!

I ordered two crispy beef tacos with rice and beans. We had an appetizer of chips and salsa. The chips arrived and were straight out of a bag, cold, not freshly made. Half of it was smashed into bits - bottom of the bag! We returned it for a refund. Next, the taco shells were straight from a box, not freshly fried. The ground beef had no flavor except for salt. I pulled a chunk of ground beef out that was raw on the inside. I was scared to eat the rice after this. The worst Mexican food I have ever eaten! They should be ashamed to serve it but apparently the joke is on us. After I stood up, a group of pigeons dived bombed on my plate and apparently enjoyed the plate very much. The one star is from them.
