My girlfriend almost got run over in the parking lot by another patron. We found chicken bones and skin in the dish that was made wrong and charged for doubles instead of a single margarita on a happy hour all day last Monday. We waited about 30 minutes after the app was ordered until the waiter came back to order our entree. Probably spent 2 hours for the worst dining experience ever. Still haven’t heard back from management.

Tasty tacos, friendly service.
Could have just been the night I was there but it was quite a noisy environment.

My sister and I have been coming here for years, we love to sit on the patio and sip Gills margaritas. Breakfast all day is a plus too!

Maudies has been a go-to since childhood for affordable and consistent eats and chill atmosphere. Stephanie is an amazingly bad-ass server who brightened our night with her charm! 10/10 experience as always— Thanks, y’all, and special thank you to awesome Stephanie!

Stopped in for breakfast, and regretting the entireee experience. First the guy at the host stand was on his phone the whole time. The food was not good, pancakes tasted like boxed pancake mix, bacon was sent out burnt and completely hard. There was ONE waitress taking orders for the whole restaurant which caused the wait for our ticket to be so long. We had to get up as if leaving for her to pay attention to our table.

I’ve only been going to Maudies for about 30 years. Mike Q. the bartender at Maudies Too is awesome! Great service, great guy. Anyone that says otherwise is a knucklehead. Nobody likes knuckleheads. Great food, great margaritas. I’ll be back.

Flies. Flies everywhere. I understand this is a common problem with restaurants that have both indoor and outdoor dining. However, a lot more could be done in terms of pest control. My dining experience was horrible just because I spent most of it fending off flies.

Chips and salsa were fine. No draft beer. Bottled beer was not even a little bit cold. I got the chicken burritos with rice and beans. The burritos were very bland. The rice and beans had no taste at all.

My waitress (I believe her name was Sarah) was very nice. That's about the only positive thing I can say about my experience.

I’ve been coming to this lovely LOCAL establishment for over 15 years. Consistent service, hospitality, food quality, and incredible staff across the board. Mike Quintanilla is incredible team member and one of the many reasons my family/friends & I love coming here. He is attentive, professional, warm gentleman, and a master at his craft! We look forward to coming here weekly. Thank you Maudie’s for staffing such incredible people.

Been going to Maudies for the last 20+ years. Used to go to Lake Austin Blvd but lately the S Lamar location. I read the negative review regarding Mike the bartender. Do not understand it. Mike is one of my favorite bartenders in town. He remembers what I previously ordered and has it ready to go. Great conversations with him and great service. In fact, I peek in the door sometimes and if Mike isn’t working, I go elsewhere. If you are looking for the old Austin vibe, this is the place for great food and service.

Mike at Maudie’s Too — Where Everybody Knows Your Name (and Your Drink)!
I rarely leave reviews because I selfishly want to keep my favorite spots to myself — but Mike at Maudie’s Too absolutely deserves one. He’s the kind of bartender that makes you feel like you’ve walked into South Austin’s own version of Cheers — where everybody knows your name (and your quirks, and your go-to drink!).
He always remembers my order before I can even say it, and we’ve built up our own little inside jokes that make every visit feel like coming home. Even when I go to places that comp my drinks, they can’t match the kind of genuine connection and good energy Mike brings.
Here’s to Mike — raising the bar (literally) for what hospitality should feel like. 🍹👏

Perfect Saturday night dinner for a casual date night. Food was fantastic. Highly recommend the Strait enchiladas and pulled pork burrito. We were seated right away with a table outside. Great way to enjoy the evening vibes.
