Amazing enchiladas and if you go across the street to Chuy's, you can get some creamy jalapeño dip to take with you to Maudie's. Best location imho.

Don't order chili relleno, they literally do NOT know how to make it. Not joking. And their enchiladas? Seem to be made with process cheese-type stuff, NOT actual cheese. Authentic? Ha! Not even close. Go to Cheko's on Koenig Lane instead. In fact, maudi's needs to send their "cooks" there to learn how to make Mexican food. Now the service? It's barely ok, I guess. Even when it's not busy, they're not attentive or friendly. It's ok, I'll just go somewhere else.

I've been coming here over 20 years and the food is always hot and delicious. The chips always thin and crispy. The salsa always garlicky and spicy. My faves include the nachos compuestos, chilaquiles verdes with two fried eggs over easy, cheese enchiladas plate, crispy tacos plate and the Pete's tacos. The servers are awesome and efficient. Wonderful people all around.

Unfortunately I have accurate and negative news. This was the worst experience I have ever had a Resturant. We ordered two Bloody Marys and queso. The bloody marys were absolutely terrible, we took one sip and wanted to barf. The queso was even worse. Horrible service and staff was terrible. I have worked in restaurants waiting tables for 15+ years. On top of it all, we immediately left paying $30 bill. Would highly NOT recommend. No idea how this location has the stars it does.

I usually love Maudie's restaurants, but this one? Not so much. My first experience here was Monday night with a rather large group (10 adults, 4 children) and a birthday celebration. We took up 6 two-top tables in the center of the larger room. On the positive side, we had a reserved thanks that was ready on time. And the food and drink we had was indeed good. On the negative side, lots. First, the happy hour menu has changed and not for the better. My favorite, the nachos compuestos have been removed. I can understand that at the $6 price point that was probably not possible to sustain. But at the same time I would have gladly paid $2 to $3 more on happy hour to get what I wanted. Maybe they should offer dollars off instead of fixed price? Another member of the party noticed, as did I, that the Mexi-Marts are getting skimpier. There's far more ice and far less drink. Service was kind but needed too much flagging for chip, salsa, and water refills. The biggest problem by far was the seating. I was uncomfortable all night because we were crammed three to a table for two. My girlfriend thought I was being intentionally cozy when I was really just trying to make room for the diner at the end of the table to eat. My girlfriend's plate and mine and drink glasses and Mexi-Mart shakers were all jammed on to one side of that two top. Note to Maudie's that just because a table has four sides does not mean it's large enough to seat four people comfortably. There really is no ambience to the location. Add to the experience the sketchy hood this location calls home, plus the unsavory characters constantly roaming the parking lot and this Maudie's is so not going to be a repeat performance for me. I'll give it 2.25 stars rounded down to two for the disappointing experience overall. I'll find another location to get my Maudie's fix.
