Mien & Bao in the Triangle is such a gem in Austin, and I’m so glad I stopped by! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by how clean, bright, and beautifully decorated the space is. The modern décor mixed with warm touches really creates a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.
I also want to give a special shoutout to Lisa, who was an absolutely amazing server. She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely made the dining experience even better.
I tried multiple dishes during my visit, and every single one was delicious. You can really taste the quality and freshness in everything they serve. The flavors were balanced, comforting, and thoughtfully prepared. It’s rare to visit a place where every dish hits the mark, but Mien & Bao really delivered.

LOVE Mian and Bao. The staff is super friendly, and you easily grab several dishes to split amongst a group. The cold mung bean jelly noodles are a must have, and my dark horse pick is the unassuming garlic broccoli. It is bursting with flavor and is super fresh. Very vegan friendly.
I’m obsessed with min and bao!! Since discovering a couple of weeks ago I think about it for every meal 😋

I had high hopes for this place but was disappointed. The boa options are very limited. I ordered the pan fried beef buns and they tasted like it was cross contaminated with soap. The noodles were good but I cannot recommend this place.

We arrived around 1:30pm and were seated right away. We were asked to order online from a QR code on the table. This was just a bit confusing but the waitress straightened things out for us. We ordered noodles and shrimp, hot and sour soup, fruit tea, and appetizers. Our order arrived in short time piping hot. Everything we tried had authentic flavors and was very tasty. Our waitress was good and inside the place was nicely decorated. At the end of our meal we were definitely full and content. I very much enjoyed dining here.

Went there today for the first time. Food was delicious. Restaurant settings are very nice. Want to go back again try different food. I am glad they kept the authenticity of flavor.

I've been going here for a couple of years now and it's my go to spot for when I'm craving some dumplings and stir fry. I usually get the pork soup dumplings, chilli oil wontons, and stir fry and they never disappoint. Definitely check this out if you are looking for a reliable, affordable, and yummy Chinese place in the area.

went with my bestie and her bf!! it was my first time and i loved everything!
🍜 spicy beef noodle soup: 7.5/10 for me, 8.5/10 for my friends. super tender meat, juicy bok choy, and salty broth. the noodles were a great texture (not too chewy/ starchy). it wasn't spicy... and not anything too special though
🍱 fried pork cutlet/ tonkatsu: 8/10 for me, 7/10 for my friends. it was very crispy and came with soy sauce & ketchup but i'm just not that into katsu
🍞 pan fried beef bun: 10/10 for me, 8/10 & 6.5/10 for my friends. SOOOO juicy and great meaty flavor. and crispy bread. they literally added some mala pepper on the inside edges of the bread which added a unique numbing taste and was something i’ve never seen before!
*they tell you, but just be warned the juice can splash out easily!
🐷 pan fried pork bun: 5/10 for me, 8/10 & 7/10 for my friends. it tastes like baozi i've had before. the pork was juicy but not something i'd order again
🍧 ice jelly: 9/10 for me, 6/10 and 5/10 for my friend. this is my second time having this chinese dessert and it's so refreshing. there's peanuts, brown sugar syrup, hawthorn flakes, raisins, and sesame seeds. i will say that it's for sure an ACQUIRED taste for others and may be a texture thing too
🏮 ambiance: 9.5/10 bc it was comfy and i liked the fancy decorations; it was so traditional yet modern. there was also halloween decor. id def come back for a date
👩🏻🍳 service: 9.5/10 every worker was so nice, even when i asked to record the kitchen for my video, but they forgot to ask if we liked the food- maybe it's because we order via a QR code. STILL, food came out FAST!
💡 extras: they have combo specials on the weekdays! also parking may be hard to find on busier days since it's a limited parking lot

I’ve been a regular customer here and used to enjoy dining at this restaurant, but today’s experience was deeply disappointing.
There were four of us, and when we arrived, the only available table was a round one with six seats. No one else was waiting. We politely asked to be seated there, but the waitress refused with a surprisingly rude and dismissive attitude, saying the table was “for six people only.” Even after we pointed out that no one else was waiting, she simply said, “That’s our policy. If you’re not happy, you can leave.”
Such a response felt disrespectful and unnecessary. The tables here are already quite small, and the overall dining environment is average at best. When the service becomes this unwelcoming, even good food can’t make up for it.
I truly hope the management will take service quality and staff training more seriously.

Entered the waitlist for around 10 min as a party of 2. Then a party of 3 walked in after us and got seated immediately without reservation or waiting. There was just an empty table for 4 but we weren’t seated there just for being a party of 2. Very unfair service.

Party of four with a tired toddler. An open six-top was available, but the host refused to seat us because it’s “only for parties of six.” I get revenue management, but turning away a smaller party while a table sits empty puts policy over people. We left and ate elsewhere. A little flexibility—especially when there’s visible capacity—would go a long way toward building loyalty.

First fried dumplings pretty good
Food was awesome!
No kid accommodating meal. Couldn’t even order plain noodles.
Ordering on an app is unfortunate, VERY LIMITED SELECTION & basically how it is on menu is how you have to order no edits allowed to the menu.

Excellent food all around. Spicy Beef Noodle soup is delicious, the broth itself is soooo tasty. Veggie friend rice was excellent as were the Xia Long Bao. We also got the Dumplings in chili oil and cold cucumbers, all hit the spot. You order using QR code at the table and they bring the food out quickly and efficiently. Reasonably priced also - 2 of us ate there and got some to go and it was around $20 per person overall.
