The food here is good but everything else is horrible. Smells like a sewer leak inside and the staff is rude. Every time I go I have to wait like 10 plus minutes but this last visit was the final straw for me to write this review. Waited over 15 minutes, three employees walked by me and each one glared at me and told me someone would be with me soon when I politely asked if I could order. The restaurant was dead by the way, I was the only customer in the place at the time. I would understand if they were busy, I’ve worked most of my life in restaurants, but I was literally their only customer. While this was going on, multiple employees were yelling at each other in the back, saying “I heard you talking shit about me on your break!”Everyone was very unprofessional. I was also charged a service fee, it was very small but it’s the first time I’ve been charged that at this place and I come here like once every few months. Again good food, but the service and atmosphere is horrible.

Ripping people off on too good to go. Advertising a $21 value and giving rice and a tiny scoop of Curry.

The atmosphere is really icky and terrible. The entire place, inside and out, looks so rundown it practically looks abandoned. They seem to have a lot of things in disrepair, and I understand maybe not being able to afford proper repairs, but it doesn't cost anything to clean up. The state of the restaurant is inexcusable, if I had been alone I would have just walked right back out the door.

Looks horribly run down inside and out. I would have turned around and left if I hadn't been with other people. I can understand things break, but it doesn't cost any money to clean and put things away. Just a really sad shell of what probably was a nice place once upon a time.

They're still remodeling, which is better than the location on S Lamar that has their lobby closed entirely. Food is just as great as I remember and service has always been friendly and kind. Been going here on and off since I was fresh out of high school and they've never let me down.

I was worried when going to this location and the other because I notice the reviews have gotten more negative since the last time I've been here. That was about less than ten years ago. So I go to the N Lamar location and there was a physical change. No more outdoor patio, bar dancing a white design wall, children's drawings on the wall. We were the only ones there. It seems they got a few delivery orders though.
I got the veggie ramen with spicy broth. It was good and personally it's just as good as I remember. It's still the best ramen shop to me in Austin.

Don't let the outside fool you, Michi Ramen is a wonderful place to get Ramen. The choices alone are worth the adventure! I went here with kiddo, and took a bowl to go for a friend. The atmosphere is wonderful, the service is amazing, and the food is just so damn good! Any Ramen enthusiast must come and try it out. They have straight mild to burn your face off hot. We went to the North Lamar location.
Parking: There are a small amount of spots to park and 1 handicapped spot also

Ordered food on DoorDash. The ramen wasn’t good, in my opinion. And then tried to order some of their rice bowls (not knowing it was from the same store but under a different name). They never even received my order and wasted mine and the delivery guy’s time. Try somewhere else.
Restaurantji Recommends
We really like this restaurant however sometimes it lacks consistency. The burnt ends are really good but sometimes they come out very salty. I like the jungle ramen with spicy ground pork. It is spicy.
Parking: They are under renovation but the food is still quality.

Michi wtf happened. The atmosphere is gone, and service is what I would have expected in a fast food restaurant.
The apps came out after our ramen was made. Parts of our meal were missing.
The Takoyaki drastically lacked sauce. The toppings for the dipping ramen were cold.
I miss the old Michi but I guess things went down hill over the years. Kind of sad and not worth the $60 spent. 🥺😭

The best ramen in Austin, hands down. Don't be alarmed by the disheveled appearance. I always get the michi ramen with shiitake mushrooms and ajitama egg. Worth the price. Every other ramen I've had is disappointing in comparison.

The restaurant is really run-down and dirty. Bathroom had no soap, paper towels etc. definitely do not recommend coming here when other ramen places around the city not only make a better ramen - but are cleaner as well

Food may or may not be good. The service was abysmal. The restaurant was empty when we came in for dinner. The server sat us, then disappeared. No menus, no utensils, no drink order or water, no service to speak of. We sat there for 5 minutes in an empty restaurant and saw not another soul. We left before the haunting began.
