I love this place. I have been going here for years. They used to have a place on East 12 Street many years ago. The food has flavor and is always served piping hot. The gumbo is so good that you do not need crackers. Herman remembers his customers and is always friendly. I just love this place.

It’s wasn’t great. I chose red beans as my side…….. I got pinto beans, they don’t have red beans. It took 35 minutes to get our food when we were told 20 minutes. The greens were not cooked long enough. It just wasn’t t a great experience.

We walked in at 6:43pm and they close at 7pm but that was no issue the person took our order my husband and our four sons the food came out fresh and tasted delicious. We will be back, nice and friendly environment felt like we were eating at home.
