It was good back in the days but it's not what it was anymore it's been gentrified. It's more of a gourmet Bakery now smaller donuts and more expensive and the time of store hour availability is non desirable odd hours.
S&H is the way now.

I had heard some buzz about this place being the best place in austin for donuts, so I finally went to go try. Truthfully though, round rock donuts is a million times better. The apple fritter barely even has apple???? I'm super disappointed. Bought these to take home to my family and I feel like I could've done better going to heb. :/

Boston cream filled was amazing. Strawberry glazed taste good and fluffy but I’d love it if there was more icing. A bit disappointed. Cake donut was fluffy and not too sweet I prefer different shape though. It’s also pretty pricy I got 3 pieces for $5.82

This place was amazing before it got gentrified. The money they spent on the new sign should've been spent on improving the quality of the donuts.

This place is a charming hole-in-the-wall bakery staple of Austin. I think the donut quality was similar or better since the remodel and omg the ability to get fresh donuts at 1:30am on a Saturday night? Or 3am for that matter. The low reviews don’t…get it?The cake donuts were light and fluffy and the vanilla one was a surprise favorite. Plus we had leftovers for the next morning! To clarify quality: My donuts were room temp or a bit warmer than that (not cold!)

Give this business back to the original owners, or give it to someone who will honor the past and give the great product they built for decades. My whole life Ive come here, now I live out of town and literally for years I've traveled from San Antonio to Austin just get good old fashioned Ms Johhnson HOT FRESH glazed donuts and you could see the guy making them too. Idk what happened to previous couple of owners but somebody had the great idea of buying this place and using the same great name yet ruining the brand and product. Now it's just a bunch of hipsters running the show. I felt like I walked into a 90s movie. Horrible customer service, RUDE people all on their phone devices. Donuts not warm or hot. Dude lied that the glaze donuts just came out 15 mins ago but he didn't know we had been sitting outside for half an hour and those donuts were not new or fresh. They had been sitting there. They kept the name to make money on other people's decades of hard work yet have zero idea of how it was run all those great years of service. . MRS Johnsons not hot n fresh??? What? And response was They can put them in the microwave???? Omg. And it was said in a rude way too as the guy at the window kept sucking on his teeth like he'd been eating. So I was very disappointed and still bought 2 dozen glazed bc I assured my family in San Antonio I'd take them some, and they assured me it's the same old Johnson recipe. Well the donut itself is definitely different so they lied. The glaze seems like it might be similar, but the problem is they cheat you on the glaze. Tell me when that was ever a problem at Ms Johnsons. Ha. The glazed donuts have like half what they used to of not worse. So now you're paying more. For less product and bad customer service from youngsters who have no clue. A nostslgic legendary establishment, ruined. Completely ruined. But at least the employees are so trendy. Smh. What a shame.

Nice to see someone bought the name and started making doughnuts again here. Just a decent doughnut spot.

Good! New ownership so customers get fussy, but great donuts. They make some of their own fillings so they don’t taste like plastic. No kolaches, but I’ll get over it. Right next to Tysons (24 hrs,) so it’s an easy date— tacos and donuts at any time of night.

Wow, what a sad experienceI didn’t go to Mrs. Johnson’s very much before they shut down for the pandemic and their remodeling. They just weren’t very good any more. I had to take someone to the airport early this morning and was driving by at 6:30 and thought wow, there’s the “hot donuts” sign! Sad, sad, sad. The donuts were cold, they tasted like old grease, and five of them cost more than seven dollars. I was bringing some to my neighbors. Instead I threw them away because I would have been too embarrassed to pass them on. And I threw my half eaten one out the window.

I’ve been eating Mrs. Johnson’s donuts since I was a young girl. One of the things that I loved about them was the donuts were always warm. If you’re going to make a come back with something that was so popular in Austin, make it a awesome thing to be open again. They say keep Austin Weird and it was weird eating cold donuts. Take it up a few notches new owners. By the time we got to the window, they only had 2 glazed donuts. SMH!!!!!!

We were really excited to see that Mrs J’s was open again but these donuts were not the same as the old Mrs J’s unfortunately. They were out of glazed when we went. The donuts we got were not hot. The chocolate glazed was mehhh, the cinnamon roll was mehhh BUT the blueberry cake donut was decent. We’ll try it again in a couple of months to see if they got the recipes figured out.
